Caravan was written in 1932 by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington. Tizol came up with the tune, and together with Duke, they completed the rest of it. Many other orchestras of their time performed Caravan and became a popular standard.

The lobby of a luxury hotel. Rainy morning. A young woman, who went through concentration camp and a medical experiment: removal of uterus without anesthesia. Wait for the cab. A handsome young man waiting next to her, reading newspaper and humming a melody from "The Rhine Gold". Could it be her surgeon?  The man she saw only once, but with whom she spent hours and hours talking to inside her head. The man she was dying to encounter. For a lot of reasons, as she thought at first, but really just for one question - where does one find such lust for life?
