A mix by Andrew Weatherall inspired by the new book 'Psychedelia and Other Colours' by Rob Chapman, published on September 3 2015 by Faber & Faber. The book features an introduction from Andrew Weatherall.

Andrew on the mix:

"Deadlines were passing and and I needed a kick up the arse, but with an army of psychic skeletons waiting to surge across synapses should they be lysergically fired, going "gonzo" was not an option when I found myself lacking Caliope's influence. I needed to get back on the bus but knew that the cost of a ticket was one I was unwilling to pay.My sanity is priceless. I needed a "madeleine moment" but tea and cake wasn't going to cut it. Casting my mind back to my first trip I remembered a good part of it was spent on a large Victorian brass bed listening to the static between stations on a transistor radio.I heard my own internal soundtrack, music made of ether and electricity. It was then it struck me. A sonic key was required. After some hours spent in the bunker's research library I compiled a collection of music that crackled and fizzed within a nebulous fog. Static charges mirroring synaptic fireworks. On mixing and playing the result was immediate. The foreword was written."

Andrew Weatherall playing at Disco Deviant in Brighton. A distinctive and vintage sound to his selections, most of the tracks played were over 20 years old.  This was brought about by the fact that due to Andrew moving studio, he had been sorting and selling a lot of vinyl over the last month or two. Some of these were left over from these sessions and made for an excellent party.

He always amazes us with the way he manages to capture the full attention of the club during his sets, pushing and challenging the crowd with his avant-garde performances. @andrew-weatherall (@rotters_golf_club) - Andrew Weatherall’s extraordinary twenty-five year career in music has been characterised by a series of unique partnerships, with twenty albums, thirty or so EPs and singles plus more than two hundred and fifty remixes under his belt. Bastion of the underground, Andrew has set up record labels, remixed in collaboration with artists including Paul Oakenfold on Happy Monday's Hallelujah and has brought a distinctive flavour to hundreds of other artists. Remixes led to a smattering of production duties.  Andrew only rarely wears the producer hat but on each occasion, from Primal Scream’s 1991 Screamadelica to 2009’s Tarot Sport by Fuck Buttons, the results are outstanding.  This year he released one album as The Woodleigh Research Facility (with Nina Walsh) and one under his own name, titled 'Convenanza' after the festival he curates each September in Carcassonne.  A remix album of the tracks from Convenanza will follow in October.
