I've always questioned the pop filled mainstream being an artist. The music the masses listen to generally as background music, with some exceptions, is pretty shockingly shit and generally pretty thoughtless. It's annoyed me ever more since having kids and the sexualisation of music is pretty bad taste given so many young people connect to it with an ever more free media offering. I ain't prudish as an individual but I'd like to think I'm thoughtful when it comes to projecting healthy things for people to be thinking about in our actual reality through my music. Celebrity image and the sexualisaion of art which finds the eyes and ears of kids needs to be challenged. It gives them that fake unrealistic pedestal to look up to and they chase this unrealistic artificially beautiful person that is selling their image. Psychologically when people don't find that in themselves I'd imagine it generally has a negative outcome.

We do it on a larger scale on social media where most people project just the happy things in their life again confusing people into wanting that perfect greener grass on the other side when that's not reality in most cases

In my pea head opinion we need more real and less fake not just with creativity but the way we sell ourselves to each other. Nobody is perfect but if some alien race checked in on Facebook first they'd have a pretty warped idea of what humans actually are!

Every composition was improvised in one take with exception of track 3 which has a few overdubs and track 6.

About the "Travels" album:
What started as an experiment in December 2011 turned out to become a real project that resulted in a full album. The experiment was simple but challenging: try to create ambient soundscapes by exclusively using bass guitars. As an extra challenge, every track should be recorded as one take, one flow of sound, one improvisation.

The result is six long tracks, six sonic adventures in which the listener can get lost and discover new details and nuances with every spin. Only the track “Below” is an exception to this pattern. This track is a solo bass piece that was written more than ten years ago. Somehow the vibe of this piece of music fits perfectly on this album and also functions as an interlude to the final track of the album, “Heliograph”, which is a bit brighter in sound color than the other tracks on the album.
