Falling by the Wayside –  A Motown flavored uplifting, unmissable and irresistible new single.

Singer Paul Mac Innes and producer Mattias Axelsson share a great love for the timeless Motown sound, which led them to write "Falling by the Wayside" some time before the pandemic. The song was put on hold. But at a live performance they chose to perform the song and then understood that the time had come to record this track for real. They booked the new studio Skeppet in Gothenburg and brought along a some of the citys best musicians. We hope you enjoy it

Med sorg över min morfars nyliga bortgång känner jag att mina länkar till den äldre generationen sakta tynar bort. Livet fortsätter sin gång, och jag reflekterar över hans betydelsefulla liv, en källa till inspiration för många. Morfar präglade människors liv genom sin läkarkonst och forskning, och hans arv kommer att leva vidare.  Morfars vetenskapliga gärningar och framgångar, tillsammans med min mormors otröttliga förmåga att se, beröra och vara närvarande, har tydligt format många i vår släkt.  Nyligen spelade jag in Bob Dylans sång "Forever Young." I inspelningsögonblicket betraktade jag den som en önskan för mina barn, en symbol för deras framtid. Nu, i skuggan av min morfars bortgång, stärks budskapet genom insikten om hur de som gått före formar oss. Aspekter av mina förfäders förmågor och personligheter påverkar dessa kommande generationer. Jag känner djup tacksamhet för mina morföräldrars förlängda inverkan.  Sångens tidlösa budskap fångar nu inte bara mina förhoppningar för kommande generationer utan också det rika arvet som min morfar lämnar bakom sig. Jag väljer att låta sången bli en hyllning till hans minne och en påminnelse om de värden som kommer att leva kvar. "Forever Young" blir nu en brygga mellan det förgångna och framtiden, en påminnelse om mina båda morföräldrar vars påverkan sträcker sig genom tiden.

Markus and I found some time to go play :). We first thought we would play some 90s Soul tune, but after a little of Markus turning the knobs on his very cool Elektron. We ended up making a rendition of The Soulful Australian artist: Matt Corbys Resolution. A tune we both love. We hope you will enjoy, like and hopefully share :)

After a couple years away from the scene the swedish soulful artist Paul Mac Innes presents two new tunes available on wax. The songs were written in Collaboration with producer Mattias Axelsson. Recorded at  one of the most renowned studios in Sweden ”Svenska Grammofon studion” with a group of very gifted musicians. The tunes have also been blessed with the work of US grammy winning string Arranger Mattias Bylund.
 
Mattias Axelsson has created sounds hyped by Discobelle, P3, Style Of Eye, as well as Gilles Peterson, Mad Mats and Jazzy Jeff.
