Paul Mack's Drum & Bass Party

I was asked to put an 'Arabesque' set together for a private party recently and this is the result.
If you are a fan of world music, or just love Chilled/Deep House then you might want to check it out.
It's a 4.5 hour journey through the desert that goes from 'Thievery Corporation' style chilled to 'Jamaāl Digweed' style deep.

Arabesque

Here is my set from last weeks incredible 'Inn On The Park 30th Reunion'.
While I was putting this together I started thinking that back in the day we actually had no idea what these tunes were. 
I'd hear them on cassette tape in a friends car or at an after-party and they would just fester in my head. After many days, weeks, months of badgering I might get a copy of that cassette. Then it would take months, if not years to actually work out the name of the tune. But I still wouldn't be able to play it because the vinyl was so rare. Then eventually I might find a copy. Then I would play it so much that I learned everything about it - how it starts on the off beat, how it drifts out of time on the break, how there is a scratch or dod burn just before the outro. I remember going to Inn On The Park and praying that Oddball, Mixmaster Gee or Warren would play YBU's 'Keep It Up' because that was the only place I ever heard it.
These days we just Shazam and drag it into a Spotify playlist but it wasn't always like that. This is what makes this music, and that time, so special to me.
Disclaimer:- Some of the mixes are a bit rough, just like back in the day. These old bangers can be unpredictable sometimes..... :-)

Shortly after we went into lockdown in Spring 2020 (and amongst a slew of livestreams cropping up) I recorded a mix for our local internet radio station www.music.je.
At first I thought I would do one or two shows but I quickly found my groove and it has turned into a weekly show containing the latest progressive house scorchers, more laid back and uplifting mixes and even a few classics mixes thrown in for good measure!

He is best known for his collaboration with Marc Mitchell as 'Human Movement' and their Renaissance anthem 'Love Has Come Again' has been considered a trance classic by many.
Paul & Human Movement have released tracks on labels such as Whoop!, Bedrock, Renaissance, Kinetic, A:Loud, LuPS and have also appeared on compilations including Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Cream Anthems, Trance Nation & many more worldwide.
As a DJ Paul delivers hypnotic & uncompromising sets that cross bridges between house, progressive and techno.
Equally comfortable playing chillout sessions, peak hour sets or twisted after-parties his ability to layer sounds and build energy levels has always made Paul stand out from the crowd.
Alongside good friend Stuart King (Sunday Club, Stress Records) he is resident DJ for Jersey club night 'Audio' who have welcomed guests including Jimmy Van M, Quivver, Jody Wisternoff, Max Graham, Guy J, Chris Lake, Behrouz, Anthony Pappa, Deepsky, Charlie May and many more.
Paul hosts a monthly show on FriskyRadio called 'Music For Astronauts'.
