I've always loved really chilled out, ambient style tracks, so I decided to write one, and this is the result. Fluxus Caelo (Latin for sky flow) is one in a series of 4 compositions reflecting the 4 elements, with this one being dedicated to Air. The full length version runs to 27 minutes and is designed for meditation and relaxation and can be found on my YouTube channel with a timelapse film of the sky from my studio window. A slightly shorter version will form one part of the forthcoming 4-part "O elementis" (Elemental Flow) suite, and this is the 5 minute edit.

This is the radio edit of my song Make Believe, written by myself with lyrics by Jim Knock. It was recorded during lockdown when things seemed a little surreal, and the world didn't know what was happening. We still don't, but we're getting there.

Paul Mallatratt - Sliding Doors Remix

This is my new ambient, chillout, downtempo album called O Elementis (Air). It features four 20-minute instrumental pieces, each inspired in some way by the first of the Greek classical elements, air. This album is the first in a series exploring all the Greek classical elements, air, earth, fire and water. Each album will feature four longer form tracks and will incorporate field recordings and music, separately and combined, and it is my intention to release music that will be uplifting and inspirational as well as relaxing and calming for the mind and body. For this release however, the focus has been on mindfulness and calm, and the four tracks reflect this. The album is released on 1 August 2022 and will be available as a digital download and limited-edition compact disc from my bandcamp site (www.paulmallatratt.bandcamp.com) as well as streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Youtube, and all the major streaming platforms. It'll be available to pre-order from 1 June 2022.

Professional bass player, mixing engineer, producer and recording artist.  Available for studio or live session work, remote recording, longer term projects and collaborations, mixing and mastering services ideal for independent artists. 

Paul's love of the low frequencies started when he was 13. A classically trained double bass player he has performed in orchestras and swing bands throughout the UK and Europe before moving on to bass guitar and the joys of jazz, soul, funk and rock. Paul has honed his technique over many years to develop a unique and recognisably smooth sound, providing a valuable sonic foundation for artists as diverse as the late great Kevin Thorpe, Chico Arnez, Maxim Leonidov and Tipping Point. Paul is currently the bass player for UK blues legend Danny Bryant, and also plays for the Robin Bibi band.

As an accomplished session musician and producer Paul has also performed on and produced many recordings for independent artists, and has championed the music of unsigned bands and artists through his "Unsigned Heroes" radio shows.

Paul now runs a small studio engineering business and offers mixing and mastering services.
