Father fears the parapet
Talking to the empty set
Suffers slowly til he loses faith
Wonders if he'll start again

Midnight Mary's made of stone
Waiting by the telephone
History is never on her side
Watching hands tick slowly by

So close your eyes
Hold the world too tight
with broken wings take flight

We go places just like home
Trodden by the rubbered soul

So lost in time
do you realise
we're just trying to be alright?

So say goodbye
raise your boat capsized

Sister screams the old hellos
