Paul Murphy - Rare Groove 2 (24.10.2010)

My name is Paul Murphy and i've been collecting music for almost 30 years. In my early days i used to listen to electro and hip hop as i was a (very bad) breakdancer back in the day. Through the 80's i started listening to everything from Talking Heads to ACR, the Happy Mondays to Captain Beefheart and back again. Towards the end of the decade i started getting in to house and Detroit techno as well as some serious jazz-funk. Hip hop though was always what i went back to and it was around 1991 that i started DJing, playing Hip hop, funk, soul, reggae and jazz. I have continued to dig for those long lost beats for more than 25 years now and i have built up an extensive 'rare groove' collection. I still keep a fully open mind, however, and i still listen to anything new that comes out regardless of genre.
