This track is part of my Katahimikan release, "Rewind".

Rewind is about going backwards, which could also mean going back in time. I processed most layers of every track using different kinds of gramophone simulations, to have as a result, a broken lo-fi effect reminiscent of old audio machines.

Had a couple days off, so I decided to remix my favorite Cure song. Enjoy!

The Cure - Plainsong (SineRider Remix)

With 9 tracks, Matter is one of the most challenging projects I ever worked on: much of the time I spent working on the album, I've been listening and relistening to every track, shaping and tweaking every little detail and sound until I could feel the right vibe, the one which always represented Need a Name for me as the beginning of my musical journey, but mixed up with many technical aspects I managed to learn during the past years, also thanks to my work on Chasing Dreams, which allowed me to improve my artistic self-expression.

Matter's melodies are pretty minimalistic, for the most part reminiscent of "Sizzling Plucks", the album that really defined Need a Name and its spacey and dreamy vibes, but with a maniacal cure for all the minimal details.

23/9/16 – Home

Thinking back now, I don’t ever remember experiencing a situation where I thought there was any resolve. My mind faced a barrier where I just couldn’t break from the grasp of my demons. But today, I know there’s light to find out here, you know that feeling you get when you first fall in love and you can’t seem to convince yourself that you’re not dreaming but you’re actually AWAKE and it’s REALLY happening? This IS real. Hope and resolve are emotions that I’ve always struggled to comprehend. But, with all that I can see now, I feel hope, I feel resolve. I feel like this is my chance to live. You don’t know how that really feels until it comes, you simply can’t fabricate it and make it seem like it’ll work forever, that’s for certain. False hope is temporary. But this? This is absolutely permanent. This is where I’m supposed to be.

Today has been a good day, because today, I’ve broken free from those demons. I know that what I’m seeing is real. I know that I’ve found hope. I know that this is where my life lies. I promise you that I won’t stop looking for you, because I know that wherever you are, you’re looking for me too. One day, we’ll be together again.
Thank you for giving me something to hold onto, I know I don’t need to be afraid anymore.

Thank you for giving me a shelter. A home.

I love you. I’ll see you soon.
