When You Look Around

Singer, songwriter, translator & interpreter, father, husband, human being, earthling.
 
After a significant hiatus due to personal reasons, I am trying to figure this out, one step at a time. I believe that music can create a better world - starting with how we live, how we can lend a hand, and find higher ground.
 
Being a musician/singer/songwriter is the core of who I am as an individual, how I connect with others, my spiritual native tongue, and ultimately how I could ever be something bigger than myself in this world. It is my redemption, my story, and my soul. It is the face that looks back at me when I look at the mirror.
 
In a quick glance from the past: from 1992-2013 I recorded the albums “La Folia” (2001), “Paulo Lara ao Vivo” (2004), and “Estrela de Mil Pontas” (2010), the single “Dos Encontros” (2003), and other miscellaneous stuff. I also participated in compilations with other artists, and recorded soundtracks for Disney movies - “Meet the Robinsons” (2004), “Phineas & Ferb” (2005) - the Brazilian Portuguese versions.
 
My academic background is in Languages, Literature, and Communication, and I also attended the college “Universidade Livre de Música” - Centro Tom Jobim, in São Paulo, Brazil, for Singing & Vocal Technique.
 
In 2011, my song “Better World”, featured in my album “Estrela de Mil Pontas”, won an international award for the contest “Music for the Earth”, organized by the Earth Day Network, SonicBids, Musician’s Friend, and Gibson.
