Here's a mix I made of some memphis classics from the 1990s and early 2000s. This is a genre of rap that I think deserves more love. Memphis laid the groundwork for any Trap rapper that exists today. For about 20 years this scene was very obscure but it was popular in the south and in Europe. In recent years many producers and rappers have paid homage to these legends of rap. Weather it be directly referencing them, adapting their style, or with sampling. This genre is undoubtedly the predecessor of Phonk and this mix will contain many famous samples that Phonk producers have used over the years. Mix by: @Volvatene
