We have been following Valentina aka diladï and VALE for several years now. Her style and performance have convinced us since the first meeting. Not only does she know how to create a wonderfully dense sound experience on the floor, but she also trumps with her performance behind the decks. It's fun to watch her play. You can tell that she loves to mix and that she literally merges with the audience and the music. That's why we are so excited to finally welcome her to our series. 

She has unpacked her alter ego diladï. Her slower side is tailor-made for our series and heralds a wonderful sound experience right from the start. Melodic, dreamy and with lots of hypnotic synths, she takes the listener by the hand and transports him directly into another world. Great tracks are waiting for us that flow into each other like pearls on a string. From time to time she presses the accelerator a little harder. But the sensual Valentina appears again and again. Wow! The seconds and minutes fly by. To realize again and again that music is simply the most beautiful thing in the world. It evokes feelings and invites you to dream.

✔️ What is your musical background?
 
Early on as a kid I started learning to play the piano, the guitar and also to sing. This continued into my teenage years - later then I also sang in choirs and had individual concerts with bands. As a teenager, my interest switched from mainly indie and alternative music to electronic music; Berlin was definitely very influential and still is today.

✔️ In your opinion, what makes a good afterhour?

When you just don't want to go to sleep and completely lose your sense of time and space.

✔️ What thoughts would you like to share with us about your mix?

This set it less bouncy than usual, I would say, and definitely slower, with a range from 105-108 bpm. With the music I chose this time, I'm exposing a more dreamy and melancholic side of mine. Nevertheless not wanting to lose the drive..

The Zum Brennenden Bären Festival 2025 was an unforgettable experience!

Playing a 3-hour live set in the BÆR 25 with you was awesome. Seeing people dance and smile to the songs I created over the last three years was absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing this magical moment with me and for all your lovely feedback during dinner!

Today, sophya takes us on an extremely slow but very groovy journey through the world of downtempo electronic music. There's something of 2005 about it, but nothing oldschool here. Quite the opposite, in fact. The bass pushes, the drums rattle, and the groove will literally lull you to an hypnotic state. There's also a hint of disco, deep house and definitely keta pop. What is your musical background?

I come from a very musical household – I learned to play piano and guitar at an early age, and music has always been a way for me to process my emotions. Before I got into electronic music, I lost myself in all kinds of other genres, and that still shapes how I approach music today. I don't want to tie myself to one specific sound – I try to follow my intuition and blend different genres together.

What I always connect with, though: bounce, deep and emotional tracks, and a good dose of trash.


What makes a good afterhours party?

For me, the afterhours are now often the best part of a night out. It's when the loud, lively night is over and we move on to a more relaxed setting with a small group of people hanging out. For me, a good afterhour needs the right people, a cosy place, lots of mischief and laughter, good drinks and snacks, and of course, the right soundtrack.


What would you like to share with us about your mix?

After a long night, I'm often exhausted and like to make myself comfortable somewhere. When the music picks me up and slowly breathes a little energy back into me while I'm still on this dreamy, tired but satisfied wave, that's one of the best experiences. That's what I've tried to achieve with this set.

Afterhours 156 w/ Gizem (Full Set Recorded @ Garage Noord x no clubs, Amsterdam) ☁️

An honor (and dream!) to open up the night at the courtyard stage for Maxa x Mayan Warrior's Dia De Muertos fundraiser party in Industry City, NYC. 

I played a lot of the quirky artists I love most: Gab Rhome, Mano Le Tough, Terr, Notre Dame, Maceo Plex, Tripolism, Mura Masa, Frankey & Sandrino, plus not one but TWO of my favorite Depeche Mode edits.

Opening sets are always some of my favorites, because I got to take the room from 0 (like, literally, not a single person on the dancefloor) to properly warmed up and ready for the marathon ahead.

The best is yet to come <3
