While I was in Bible college I began writing songs like crazy. At one point I had 30 new songs and my music theory teacher arranged for me to record them all - piano & voice only. Later on she encouraged me to put 10 songs on a cassette and make them available to people I was ministering to. This week one of those people contacted me asking if the tracks were available online. In an email he said, "I wore out (that) cassette of yours... as I drove from (home) to college to study ministry."

One day I hope to have the entire album available for download, but for now... enjoy this track from the cassette Come Before Him With Your Praise.

I met Bobby when he was twelve. He had just been released from jail and a friend had invited him to our junior youth group. Over the next 3 wild and wonderful years I would get to know his family and friends and during that time I wrote this song for him. On September 2, 1994, at the age of 15, Bobby passed away after a tragic bike accident and I officiated his funeral. Hard to believe he's been gone 21 years. But I truly believe that one day I will see him again.

*This is one of the few pictures I took of Bobby over the 3 years I knew him from a youth group trip to Kingdom Bound @ Darien Lake Theme Park.
