Shibiza Recordings is a Tehran based independent label founded by DJ Ferry in 2012. Inspired by many famous Persians such as Dubfire, Pleasurekraft, Sharam, Omid 16B, Namito, Behrouz, Nima Gorji, Sharam Jey,... the new label will focus on Iranian artists around the world, showing their innate talent for music despite being suppressed by a closed society. The word „Shibiza“ stems from the two places „Shemshak“ in Iran and the famous „Ibiza“, two places with paradoxical demographics, but an even sensation for house music.

Making his debut on Libero, Oxford-based Gibraltarian producer, Jezen. Following on from an impressive stream of releases, ‘The Things You Know’ EP delivers an exceptional combination of original club cuts, both tracks already played by Marco Carola, Loco Dice and more - supplemented by a remix from Leicestershire talents, Murphy’s Law.

‘Like You Should’ takes the shape of a late-night mood setter. A quintessential Music On-esque number - often a treat for the earlier dancefloor descendants - comprising a potent mixture of percussive factors, punchy kicks, and crisp rhythms. Throwing a pinch of the early 2010s deep house flavour in with its bassline and synth melodies; a steady groover that leaves a lasting effect.

‘The Things You Know’ turns the momentum up slightly, adding more roll and shuffle into the mix. Crammed with atmospheric scenes and injections of cadent flair. Continuing the fashion of strong, reminiscent melodic undertones, yet another standout track with indisputable impact.

Completing the triple threat, Murphy’s Law remix of the title track injects yet another layer of energy into the release. A robust adaptation of ‘The Things You Know’ with a constant, blistering low end and raw harmonics offer a gritty alternative to an already definitive piece of music. With hints of UK Tech character dotted throughout, the increasingly-popular duo rounds off the release nicely.

Jezen - The Things You Know

The next release on Libero comes courtesy of one of the label's leading men, Luke Welsh. The Kaluki & WHP resident is on top form as he delivers an impressively potent EP in the form of ‘Not The Same’ - featuring three hot off the press original cuts, highlighting his ever-increasing production talent and adding even more weight to the Libero name.

Kicking things off, ‘Not The Same’ leaps straight into that signature label format of percussive-led groove and easy-going momentum. Layers of intricate drum components drive the track with not only cadence but also add subtle melody - complimenting the weighty low-frequency bass melody. The track is broken up with a progressively climatic synth riff and accompanying vox line that builds the perfect ledge to kick you off, straight back into the groove once more. Played numerous times by Marco Carola.

‘Mad Marksman’ has an undeniable tribal feel to it. Fat-bottomed kicks meet the sizzle of hand drums rattling from left to right that give off a really attractive primal energy. Another deep and heavy roller in the lower end of the frequency spectrum with progressively building and subtle melodic elements - dusted off with yet more clever vox arrangements. A track with an essentially raw and soulful appeal, that will have you reaching for the repeat button.

Last but certainly not least, ‘Campione’ completes the release with another welcomed instalment of full-bodied kicks and a seemingly endless array of movement-inspiring rhythmic elements. A bottom-heavy head bopper to say the least with ‘crammed terrace’ written all over it, carrying that nonchalant loose-necked feel from start to finish. Reminiscent of the sort of track you would hear at peak time at a Music On type party.

Luke Welsh - Not The Same

Born in Cádiz (Spain), musician, DJ, and computer engineer, he began his journey into music production in 1993. From early experiments with trackers to mastering the most sophisticated DAWs of today, his evolution reflects a deep passion for sound and technology.

Immersed in the language of elegant Old and Nu Skool Breaks, he began performing at major events in his province by 1999. After completing his degree in computer engineering in 2004, he developed his own synthesis system using programming languages and mathematical principles.

Relocating to Seville for work and life, he matured musically and began shaping a personal, house-rooted style—playful, fluid, and distinct. In 2005, he joined Amoeba Label and Desertica Records, performing in numerous clubs around Seville and beyond.

His tracks have been released on Cray1 Labworks, Amoeba Label, Desertica Records, InOut Records, and many others. Whether crafting warm-up sessions or delivering high-energy sets, he thrives on groovy, dynamic structures that captivate the dancefloor.

Among his ongoing projects, he is especially focused on a new collaboration with his longtime musical partner TFunk—now known as Reference Sound.
