After a long night of speedy and hard music indoors, I took the opportunity to close the event on the outdoor stage with music for the sunrise. Faster than usual - but still psychedelic and emotional.

On the ruins of the recent past, together we build the outline of the days to come. Undiscovered scenery will reveal a space for those who are fearless to enter the void and set new paths in the light and dust. On Friday, August 13th an industrial area of a former factory outside Prague will host a long night with international and local live acts and DJs to tear down this veil of emptiness. The location represents the fragility of our times - the future of the area is as uncertain as ours. Let's dance TILL THE LAST.

Selecting the artists who will close out the festival is always a decision that takes a great deal of thought and consideration. @davisgalvin, who also beautifully curated the Hemlock Nights stage, felt like the perfect starter to the last night of the festival. Their set is a lesson in maintaining a narrative through thoughtful programming. 

Davis is no stranger to creating trascendent, memorable music moments at campout, but this time we remembered to hit record 🐬✨

Very happy to have an artist I've admired for a while now join the series, Italian producer/dj Lucca Mucci aka Piezo (@piezopz). With an impressive repertoire of releases on Idle Hands, Wisdom Teeth and more, Piezo has become known for a unique signature style, spacey, bassy soundscapes with serpentine percussion lines & ever-surprising quirks & charms. 

His DJ style is a poignant flow on from his productions - his set at @terraforma festival last year was a major highlight for me - he soundtracked the scorching hot afternoon with percussive, bassy, rhythmic goodness.

This mix is a goodbye letter to my mother to help her start her journey through the universe. 

It has pieces of her life in it to remind her that the pain was only in the end but her life story is not that. It was full of joy, love, laughs, dance, and music.

New York trio Purelink give us an exclusive peek of what they have planned for the upcoming summer live music season in this weekend’s Sunday Mix. As the creators of Signs, one of the best ambient and dub techno albums of last year, their 80-minute mix shows off their advanced ears for soundscapes and texture, while adding on head-nodding grooves and dubby four-to-the-floor beats.

It’s as dancefloor suitable as it is Sunday sofa ready. “This new year has mostly been spent in our studio prepping new music and live set ideas,” they say. “A lot of these songs reflect the dancier side we’ve been inspired by lately. Hope to see you on a dancefloor soon.”

Ahhh finally a new Safe Radio episode. 

Safe Radio S07E02 is the longest so far in the series - more specifically 5 hours and 31 minutes. It consists of 78 tracks that i've been listening to and playing out since last episode. As per usual we're riding from ambient over downtempo to club/dance music.

I've been wanting to put some of the tracks from this episode in my other mixes, but somehow couldn't crack the code until now. I'm obviously super excited about finding a way to finally get [ some of ] these tracks into one of my mixes. 

Big shout out to everyone who are sending messages and showing interest in my music and what I do. I hope you like this one too ;-)

The lament of the empire...

This week we happily welcome Wosto to the Rubber Tijd series. You might know him as the other half of FALLBEIL (We had Kluentah on the show a few months back!?) and for his releases on labels like teerpappe and macadam mambo and many more. Wosto went fast and peppy with this vinyl only 140 bpm synthpop mix. 

In his own words: 
"Wosto was born in 1980 in Geseke (a small town near in „Wostfalia“) and he got no wife, no childen and no car. In the beginning of the 90ths he was a famous ice skater under the moniker RED FLAME. After an accident in 1995 and an identity crisis he started to collect records and began to work as a DJ for a fairground ride. Wosto and his gang G TOWN BEATS were discovered by the club owner Travolta Michele and they started to do DJ sets in the club KLIMBIM in Geseke. 19,994 of the 20,000 inhabitants of Geseke weren`t interested in the music of the gang and so in 2004 the boys escaped to Hamburg. In 2013 Wosto and his best friend Kluentah founded FALLBEIL. So far they released 10 vinyl records on different labels all over the world. In 2017 Wosto and the two members of NOSTAGIE ÉTERNELLE started the trio SAUERSTOFFF. Wosto is also releasing solo records and is running his own vinyl label - TEERPAPPE."
