But with the races closer than expected, democrats are left to wonder where they could've closed the gap. 'Sober curious’ refers to individuals who are interested in reevaluating their relationship with alcohol. The term began to rise in popularity about three years ago and has now expanded to various markets, like social media platforms, retailers and bars. Is it just a fad though? Or this new form of nightlife signifying a larger shift in American drinking culture. Through speaking with influencers in the sober curious space as well as business representatives in the industry, reporter Ana Altchek explores the roots of this new trend and whether or not its here to last.
