Hailing from Rotterdam, Netherlands-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Talee makes his debut on Reflections with his mesmerising production ‘My Mother Was A Synthesizer’. 

Born out of a psychedelic experience, Talee first emerged on the scene in 2020 with his remix of Belgian Trance DJ Jonas Steur’s 'Fall To Pieces’, landing straight into Spotify’s New Music Friday Dance and showcasing his unique flair. Following a successful debut, Talee revealed his first AA-side projects on Berlin-based record label Disco Halal in 2022 under the mentorship of label-had Moscoman, touring the projects at 20+ live shows across the Netherlands. 

In September 2023, Talee was awarded ‘Best Producer of Rotterdam’ by The Grand Prix of Rotterdam, an emerging talent initiative in the Netherlands. He is now set to play the Sena Performers Stage for Rotterdam’s Liberation Day Festival in May 2024, which is host to several thousand attendees.

Inspired by the likes of LCD Sound System, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and James Blake, Talee’s new EP blends an array of vintage synthesizers, guitar licks and electronic beats with his voice, blurring the lines between genres to cement his own hybrid sound. The project explores the theme of family dynamics, from the intimate and distant emotions, and all the moments in between, while celebrating the strangers that become chosen family overtime.

Talee shares the meaning behind the title track and first single 'My Mother Was A Synthesizer'.

"This piece of music symbolises the evolving dance of my relationship with my mother throughout the years, extending up to the present moment. It’s a reflection of me finally indulging and putting work into this relationship on my own terms. 

As one grows more acquainted with someone, their capacity for empathy deepens. I have come to realise there’s actually a big deal of grace with which she handles her own challenges, that I did not acknowledge fully until now. Which makes me so much more grateful for her persistence in expressing her own ideals and everyone else out there doing the same."

GRAMMY-nominated producer and songwriter Steven Weston makes a compelling comeback to Anjunadeep with his latest single ‘If You Know Me’. The single features dreamy vocals from alt-pop duo Arctic Lake and London-based singer bailey.

Having made his label debut last year with the widely acclaimed track ‘Like I Used To’ (feat. Låpsley), which has garnered over 4 million streams and support on SiriusXM Chill, Steven’s musical journey continues to grow. His impressive portfolio includes work on Rudimental’s third album ’Toast To Our Differences’, collaborating with esteemed artists including Charlie XCX, Ladyhawke, and Mikky Ekko. Notably, Steven also serves as the musical director for Christine and the Queens and concurrently is on tour with UK artist UNKLE.

In ‘If You Know Me’, Steven harmoniously blends Arctic Lake and bailey’s heartfelt vocals with carefully designed synths and percussive grooves, creating a meticulously crafted electronic composition.

Celebrated melodic techno duo Kasablanca release the remix package of their second EP on Anjunabeats, ‘Lucid Audio’. 

Kasablanca exploded onto the scene in summer 2020 with their collaboration with Lane 8, ‘Run’. What followed was a dream run: their debut album ‘Human Learning’, a Juno Award-nominated collaboration with Bob Moses in ‘Afterglow’, and joining us at Anjunabeats to release the ‘Immunity EP’, as well as remixing Above & Beyond’s ‘Black Room Boy’ as part of the ‘10 Years of Group Therapy’ celebrations.

This year, the duo completed their ‘Am I Dreaming?’ tour, which took them to eight sold-out venues across North America, plus festival appearances in Brazil and India. Their live show (best described as Justice meets Queen meets Stephan Bodzin) is more comparable to a full-on performance like a rock show than a typical clubbing experience, replete with Prince-esque swagger and an extensive rig of analogue synthesizers on stage. They recently supported Above & Beyond at their sold-out Printworks London takeover, and will soon join our Anjunafamily pilgrimage to the Gorge for Group Therapy Weekender.

‘Lucid Audio’ earned support from the likes of Massano, Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo, Armin van Buuren, Vintage Culture, James Hype, R3HAB, Lane 8, and Benny Benassi, racking up over 3.5M total worldwide streams to date. Stellar remixes of tracks from the EP soon followed: Korolova’s take on ‘Am I Dreaming?’ featured in Spotify’s New Music Friday Dance and Mint Canada playlists; Øostil’s rework of ‘Am I Dreaming?’ saw spins from David Guetta, Cosmic Gate, Gabriel & Dresden, Gitman and beyond.

New additions to the remix package include melodic house producer Dokho’s twist on ‘Dream About You’, Belgian artist Maxim Lany’s rework of 'Crucible', and rising talent CVMRN’s take on 'In Sequence'.
