Prologue - 2018 Remaster

I recently moved from the UK to the USA, so I apologise for the lack of music. This is my first song of 2017 and I'm happy to announce that there is a new album entitled "Mars Away" in the works. If SoundCloud dies in a bottomless pit made from cinder, expect to see updates on Bandcamp and also on Spotify.

I've been playing with this idea for a couple of years now, so it's great to finally have it recorded. The problem I used to have with it, was that I never felt confident enough to sing it the way I wanted to. A bit of vocal training and persistence definitely helped with that. You're a bird of night.

California Yew

A musical slumber from the upcoming album "Mars Away". Two down, super excited to finish the rest. Release date TBA, but I'm hoping for either the end of the year or the beginning of 2018. This album along with the previous two will also be available on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon etc. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for more!

I'm picking up the pieces, as I started this song last year in November. The album will contain finished versions of a few oldies, a couple which were originally meant for the first album. Secret Life, Mars Away and Sawdust to name a few. Those three have been knocking about since the CrunchAlias days.

I Am Always Here

My cover of an unreleased Radiohead song. I recorded this song as my own interpretation of how Radiohead would have approached it in the studio. Arrangement and instrumentation is inspired by their '95 live performances, and the short clip from Grant Gee's documentary "Meeting People Is Easy".

The song is also known to fans as "Man o' War".

Raven White

It has been almost a year and a half since I wrote something new, so I sat down yesterday after upgrading my DAW to Cubase 10, and did precisely that. It felt great to get back into the songwriting mindset. The template of guitar and vocals were recorded as one track, with a few takes to play around with tonality and expression. I'll likely re-record everything for the album version. The lyrics are from a poem I wrote 17 years ago.

Thank you Meg for the beautiful music. This song has always hit a spot for me. The 90's grunge vibe takes me back to when I formed my first band in music college, listening to Silverchair, STP, Soundgarden, Garbage, Alice in Chains, Varuca Salt, Hole, NIN and Nirvana.

This is my homage to the band, and a gift to all the ateaseweb board members.

This is inspired by Radiohead's soundcheck performances of the song, and a lot of listens to In Rainbows and The King of Limbs.
Similarly to what I did previously with Follow Me Around, Big Boots and Videotape, I built up a full-band effect around an acoustic performance.

I was always very fond of Thom's acoustic version played at Latitude Festival 2009-07-19, along with Jonny's version from Norwegian Wood. Thank you to the extremely clean taping by Nanakey, I decided to use the Latitude recording for the basis of a remix track.

Thank you to Lana Chircop for letting me use her awesome acrylic painting as the cover art.

This was my first Radiohead remix, based off the "Follow Me Around" soundcheck performance on Grant Gee's documentary "Meeting People Is Easy".
I didn't have the same equipment back then as I have now, so the drums and guitars aren't quite as authentic sounding as I would have liked.

"I've always been a huge fan and I was always interested in their live concerts. So I got hold 
of some of their bootlegs and listened to the stuff they never really put out. I thought I'd do a little experiment and put all of the other instruments to them. I never intended to upload it all, but my mates told me I should to see what people think and I've been really surprised from the feedback I've got - it's really cool."
