"This live set was an unforgettable experience for me. It was my second time performing live in front of an audience, and it was a bit of a test for me. I wanted to do an unprepared live set, where I could be creative on the fly. Thanks to PAX-ROMANA for giving me the opportunity to do whatever I want.

For this set, I used my modular, analog rytm, Digitone, sequencer, two effect pedals, a Faderfox, and a Boss-RC-505. It may seem like a lot of gear, but it allowed me to fully express myself and my sound. It took time to figure it out, but it's all about trial and error.

In the next edition of PAX-ROMANA, I'll be doing a brand new live set. After this trial and error process, I've found a way to create a smooth and thick sound and take the audience on a nice ride. Can't wait and hope to see you there, front left ;)."

This set was inspired by my trip to the Fjords in Norway, where humans are not the master of the world but only fleeting passengers in it. It's where I found a lot of inspiration in my life and music, so I wanted to keep a techno oriented mix as I was very inspired by this magical place. The idea of being close to our source of life, the water, of having a connection with nature where the elements meet each others, being all connected in harmony, what I am trying to transmit in my music and life in a maximum of ways. Lets not forget our place in this world and stay connected to what we really are, citizen of the Mother Earth.

This next mix comes courtesy of Berlin based Radical Softness, and with a name lent by the homonymous praxis, activism here is par for the course. The Rawmantique and Tilt resident delivers exactly what the label on the tin says: an embrace of the emotional inner self and a celebration of freedom and self-expression, with a special focus on FLINTA visibility. The music? Through this medium their aim is to explore that emotional inner world as a means of bringing communities together be they in Germany or Pakistan. The mission is clear, the music a little harder, at least for this latest instalment: this is no holds barred techno with a nod to trance. Percussive mayhem, a boundless form of resistance expressed through juggernaut beats and future-ready synths. A primal sound through which the methodology of presence and vulnerability can allow us to meet ourselves and others on dancefloors across the world. Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong-willed and motivated DJ and Producer living in Amsterdam, originally from Istanbul. Music has been a huge priority her whole life: she graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University with a degree in Music Education / Conservatory, most specifically with the cello and piano as her main instruments. During the early days of her career, she started producing and DJing in Istanbul before she decided to move to Amsterdam in 2019 to pursue her vocation as a techno talent.

Within electronic music, Beste Hira identifies with the hypnotic, fast paced and dark side of techno. Her extensive musical training can be heard throughout her music production and DJ sets, where she meticulously experiments with sounds to produce her signature, and, most importantly, having an incredibly accurate intuition allows her to play out of her comfort zone and surprise some of the most challenging crowds.

Her knowledge and experience as an artist have allowed her to grow in Amsterdam's eclectic underground scene, supported by key Amsterdam-based crews such as Orphic (who invited her to become a resident at their events series), DeSchool and the famous Vault Sessions, as well as playing at the Netherland's most renowned festivals, such as Awakenings, Amsterdam Dance Event, Amsterdam Open Air and the upcoming The Third Room, to name a few. Beste's presence in Europe is growing rapidly, especially after playing several times at the mighty Berghain and other top notch clubs in capitals like Vienna, Madrid and Paris.
