Born and raised in Jamaica Queens, NY, Paya (pronounced Pay-yah) began singing at the age of 8. At that time, while a very active member of The Greater Allen Cathedral, her mother encouraged her to join the Youth Choir where she landed her first solo. She continued to sing with the church choir for several years thereafter. Fast forward to 2007, Paya relocated to Charlotte, NC and was awarded the opportunity to sing in a few stage plays. She is also an active member of Mitchell Johnson and Rehoboth Fellowship Chorale.  In 2015, she began working on her very first solo EP entitled Unusual Favor which is now available for download on all digital music platforms!! "This project has taught me that everything doesn't always happen by our own schedule. God is truly in the driver seat and I move according to his direction”. Paya’s reason for saying yes to God's call to operate in ministry is simple, “to be sure God gets all the glory and to allow him to use my music ministry to welcome His peace and His presence to the lives of His people”.
