What unites us — humans with all kinds of dreams, deep and personal feelings, the way we perceive life and the way we actually live it? How do we notice that invisible connection and feel each other in space and time? Music collected on this page is perhaps one of those invisible connections, for it’s really hard to find an answer to the question of how artists from the most diverse parts of the globe, performing beyond all genres and stereotypes, gather music they love or play live an hour-long mix, and people on the other side of the world are actually loving it. No less a question is how come we propose @francaplays to be a part of this project and why she accepts our invitation. Such questions do not and will not have answers, so we better stop asking them altogether.

This is our 50th podcast. It was exactly one and a half years ago that we published the first one, and everything that happened within this project and became what it is now can be described differently, but we won’t even try to be original and will define it as a miracle. We are grateful to all the artists who shared their music with us, to each and every person who cares for this project, to Khoren who created the picture on the wall, to those who inspire and criticize us, as well as those who contribute and work on the texts. And thank you, @constantijnlange, for the live act and for making the 50th podcast even more symbolic and memorable.

We have our really good friend, Judith Van Waterkant, putting together a special mix to mark the end of summer. Here is what Judith had to say about this lovely mix herself: 
"It is a bit melancholic, because my theme is to say Goodbye to summer with my friends. You hear some impressions of their summer. So you can listen to lovely German people speaking English 🙂 And maybe the listeners will get comfy and reflect their summer too while listening to the music I picked. That is my romantic thought about it. There is also a very fresh unreleased remix for Manski by Harro Triptrap with my vocals in it."

Judith van Waterkant was born in the beautiful Baltic sea area and crashed into her fathers vinyl collection in a glass vitrine while dancing along with the record ‘life is life’ at the tender age of 3. "Nananananaaa"
Since then she’s not only gained a couple dangerous looking scars, which would be visible if she shaved her head, and gotten prepared to join in with the fights in the streets of Rostock, she’s also kept her deep passion of music with her, always on her mind.
At the age of 14, she had a crush on her guitar teacher and has deeply loved music since that time ,from every pore of her skin, which became even clearer to her later when she found herself in a massage circle where everybody was humming “Give Peace a Chance” in order to alleviate the difficulties and challenges of puberty. However, no one was supposed to find out about that.
“If I die today, I’ll die happy” was her boozy attitude back then. It’s exactly this spirit that the Leipziger-by-choice tried to convey in her so-called Mindset-Sets, in a down-beat-comfortzone between 90-115 BPM on the dance-floors of the world or on the couch at home. And when that doesn’t work out, which seems pretty improbable, then at least on an Instagram hashtag.

Finally I wanted to travel again and now: Travel ban, cancelled Afrika Burn and I haven't heard anything from the airline yet.

I decided to upload some of the nice tracks I found recently anyways. For a better quarantine. I am looking forward to the next African sunrise. A sunrise like the one which made me write this translated entry of my travel diary. One morning in Ethiopia:

It was I without light. My shadow, my silhouette in the bush. Alone but not lonely. Somewhere in Africa. A dot on the map. A red little lamp on the globe. Glowing eyes of children drive cattle through the forest. They sell cola. Good for the stomach. After a field of flowers the vastness of burned yellow grass got me thinking I am in a desert. The ride back was exhausting. The shower rewarding.
