Fantasy of Perfection

Paz Shina is back for another episode of Be-Untitled. This time with a one hour bassy, percussive set from himself and then a 1 hour guest feature from Atrice .

Atrice are Lino Schilling and Pablo Chacon - Pino, two composers, sound designers and artists from Zurich. As co-founders of the Miras Collective, they curate events for contemporary club music and offer young and up-and-coming artists a platform for performances. In their musical work, they are inspired by everyday encounters and and the digital flood of stimuli. In this way, a hybrid of electro-acoustic and ambient music with influences from Western pop culture is created.

The Red Room consists of a group of friends joined by their love for music and record-digging. These mix sessions are often impromptu and are usually great excuses for us to hang out and show each other new music. 

This particular session was recorded by myself and James during a weekend away with our mates up the South African coast. We overlooked the beautiful Breede River and soundtracked a portion of the afternoon for our friends.

There was a thick fog which hung beside the tree in the middle of the desert, they watched it from afar. It was not safe to roam outside here, amidst the wilderness ,for there were wild creatures and beasts which might eat you alive given the chance. The sand was a dense hybrid yellow, some might call it gold but for him that was not the case. The car whizzed across the outback headed for a town miles away in the distance, the engine coughed and spluttered beneath the heat of the day. They were all under strain... 

City Bowl Wax Network is a label based in Cape Town, South Africa. The label hit us up with two EP's of exquisite quality and precision that we were wholeheartedly blown away by. Not something that we get to say terribly often. This one comes with a gold stamp, or should we say a hybrid yellow stamp of approval.

The night was cold and dark as he skipped through an electronic maze of obscure shapes and patterns. This was his journey into digital sleep, a realm in which all things were unseen and built solely from pixels and flickering electronics. The world around him was not physical but virtual and as he dreamt in the darkness he began to shake and shuffle beneath the strain of the bright flashing lights which illuminated this fantasy world. Where was he? How had he got here? 

UNPOSED is a record label based in Germany, run by MSJY the imprint releases futuristic, experimental, electronic music with post modern tendencies. They have just announced a new compilation in aid of those under threat by the Yemen food crisis with all profits being donated. This track from the release is by Paz Shina.
