In 1 Cor 10:1– 11:1, Paul warns those loved in Christ to flee idolatry and to do all for the glory of God.
1. Examples from Israel’s past failures (10:1-22)
- Warning: when God’s people defy him, they are destroyed (v1-11)
- Pride comes before the fall! (v12)
- Yet God is faithful and offers a way out of every temptation (v13) 
- So dear friends, flee from idolatry (v14)
- For eating and drinking have spiritual significance (v15-22)

2. Some scenarios the Corinthians faced (10:23–11:1)	
- BBQ at the temple? No. (v23-24)
- Meat from the market for home? Yes. (v25)
- A complex situation: dining with non-Christian and Christian friends (v26-30)

Living for God's glory (Christian ethics):
1. Does the Bible allow it for us today?
2. Does my conscience allow it at this time?
3. What is the impact on my Christian family? (Love > my knowledge)
4. What is the effect on non-Christians? (Gospel > my rights)
5. What is the effect on my spiritual life? (God’s glory > my freedom)

- Recap: Church is God’s gathered people, because Christ is God’s greatest gift. That’s the most important thing. (1 Cor 1:1-9)
- Reality: our church today
- Reminder: the church in Corinth: gifted, worldly

1. Supernatural Gospel (v1-3): To have a supernatural church, we need to first cling to the supernatural gospel.

2. Supernatural Spirit (v4-6): A supernatural church can only exist through the supernatural Godhead: Father, Son and Spirit displaying unity in diversity.

3. Supernatural Gifts (v7-11): The Holy Spirit shares different grace gifts for the common good of God’s church. 

Conclusion: Supernatural Church?

Supernatural Church (1 Cor 12:1-11)

6. The present kingdom of Jesus Christ was declared to a multilingual congregation of witnesses. (Matthew 1, John 20:19–20)
7. The proclaimed kingdom gives birthto vibrant, multilingual congregations in Christ. (Acts 2:42–47, 15, 16:11–15)

Three attitudes as we proclaim His kingdom as PCBC:
- be thankful for our past
- be ambitious about our future
- be patient without compromise

8. The perfected kingdom will be a vibrant, multilingual congregation in Christ! (Rev. 7:9–10)

In an anti-climatic way, three faithful women encountered the empty tomb and turned into fearful women. Now the same kind of encounter confronts us as believers of Jesus: what do we do with the undeniable fact that Jesus has resurrected, and the confounding fact that we are surrounded by uncertainties? Keep calm and be faithful.
