"The "Party Girl' script and performances were so hilarious that it was super important to have many of the iconic dialogue moments on the soundtrack. I think I went into the edit room (this was shot on film!) and literally grabbed snippets of favorite dialogue to include in between songs. Erik Talbert aced getting us great sound efx, dj scratches, etc. for the interludes. 

I also have fond memories of teaching Guillermo how to DJ so he looked convincing on camera while spinning. Super sweet! " - Bill Coleman

In 2003 @peace-bisquit put together a package of club remixes for The Killers and their latest single, "Mr. Brightside." The juggernaut of a tune took off and the label opted to release only a couple of mixes by bigger names. 
We're huge fans of the band and still happy with these remix gems.

Incorporating her combined influences of traditional Southern gospel music and soul icons of the 1960’s and 70’s, "Black Diamond" encompasses a wide range of genres, from jazz to hip-hop to R&B, while establishing Angie Stone in her own distinct category.

First exposed to music in her father’s South Carolina gospel quartet, Angie Stone’s music has always been grounded in spirituality. As she also gravitated to the sounds of Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Aretha Franklin and other prominent R&B figures, Stone first released music with the female rap trio The Sequence ("Funk You Up," "Monster Jam," "Funky Sound [Tear The Roof Off]"), on the classic label Sugar Hill in the early 80’s. As rap music was just beginning to enter the mainstream, Stone felt the need to return to her roots as a singer and vocalist and began veering musically towards melodic neo-soul with the group Vertical Hold ("Seems You're Much Too Busy"). By the late 90’s the creation of her pioneering solo debut "Black Diamond" was orchestrated and executive produced by world renown producer, singer, songwriter and television host Gerry DeVeaux, also catching the attention of Arista honcho Clive Davis.

Produced with heavy-hitters including D’Angelo, Lenny Kravitz and Gerry DeVeaux, "Black Diamond" re-contextualized quotes, samples and melodies of the golden era of soul into an unmistakably modern package, creating it’s own genre of neo-soul. The album was certified gold in the US, Billboard’s #1 most critically acclaimed album of the year in 1999 and an international platinum seller, enjoying heavy airplay and also appearing in several films (including "Shaft," "Love & Basketball" and "Money Talks"). Setting its own purposefully positive tone, "Black Diamond" nods to Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack and sultry Prince while tackling subjects ranging from personal faith to romance. Tracks like "No More Rain (In This Cloud)" take us back to the grooves of groups like Gladys Knight & The Pips and the Chi-Lites, rounded out with a touch of hip-hop and complete with Stone’s rich and gripping vocals while cuts like "Green Grass Vapors" recall classic funk updated with modern urban attitude.
