collective, based in Barcelona, put together the best boat
crew that will take you sailing along the mything lust, sweaty
and affectionate sound that has been gestating in their

3. Roza Terenzi - Fine Gay

Long-time friend of the label Fader Cap returns to Butter Sessions with a potent four-track EP ‘Blue Pool’. First appearing as Sedgwick on our 10 years of BSR compilation, Fader Cap has since released music on Craigie Knows and his own Straight 2 It Recordings. 

Connecting the dots between progressive house and techno, the four tracks on ‘Blue Pool’ maintain an infectious energy, with pumping drums and plenty of space for contemplative synth work to keep the body moving and brain tingling. The rolling, dub-wise basslines set the foundations for intricate sound design and tripped-out sequences that provide that sweet head high we’re chasing. Let your mind wander as you float away into the blue pool.

[HARMONY014] is a four-track VA compilation that blends warm rhythm into dreamy groove. 

Club-oriented A-side opens with “It’s me bb” tailored by Alfred Czital, setting an intimate, yet vibrant tone of the compilation, followed by Jamida's melodic “Lots Of Love” infused in harmonic vocals. 

Side B navigates through deeper-end density fields, suitable on or off the dance floor. Polygonia's “Akkala” encompasses tribal traditions and pulsing beats, while Andy Garvey's Euphorique is finding balance between divine pads and collapsing percussion, wrapping up the compilation.

Pavel Milyakov, AKA Buttechno, coming through with the kind of impeccably-produced, trance-inducing deftness we've come to expect.

A kindred spirit of the Oyster Cult, this is a union long overdue. While he’s often found working in horizontal zones, inhabiting the intersection between ambient and downtempo, these are dancefloor dynamics for pure contemplation. Gone is the amorphous abstraction of releases like ‘PSY X’ and the kind output reserved for release under his birth name, instead opting for a lean, hypnotic kind of minimalism. 

‘OYSTER57’ picks up where the ‘Inorganic Demons’ LP and aptly-titled ‘Minimal Cuts’ series left off. Saying that, the first three tracks navigate territory gloomier than the aforementioned; uneasy at times but deeply engrossing, smudged and frayed into heads-down interzones of tunnelling throb and icy melodic flourish. Girder-strength pressure primed for metaphysical experience. 

Then, like a vestige of the finest turn-of-the-century progressive trance, ’bleeps’ ends proceedings on a slight departure. A showcase of restraint from the Berlin-based maestro and a fitting way to close.

Baraka returns with a fresh Rock infused EP named Psycho. Six new songs blending big beat, drum’n bass and trance with their touch of madness. A powerful piece shaped for the live with a nameless energy from start to finish. Psycho dives the duo into a new sonic and visual universe in which they reveal their alter egos. A more sharpened and distorted sound that would transform a concert hall into a dance floor or build up a club's energy to the level of a punk show. The first single going by the same name is supported by a remix from acclaimed dj and producer Roza Terenzi. A way for the duo to push the boundaries of their music and give it a real club aspect, trademark of the band. The full EP is set to be released on September 19th with a release party at La Station Gare des Mines in Paris that same day.
