In a landscape saturated with maximalist gestures and instant gratification, Not Even Noticed operate in the periphery — a project whose very name speaks to its ethos. The Frankfurt–Leipzig duo have been quietly sculpting a sonic language of restraint and intention since emerging in the early 2020s, threading broken rhythms, trance-infused atmospheres, and acid-washed details into music that rewards patience and deep listening. Their productions don’t clamor for attention; they invite it, revealing hidden layers only to those willing to lean in.

Their latest chapter, the Eteus EP, released this summer on LA’s visionary Fast At Work imprint, is perhaps their most refined statement yet. Drawing on the myth of Eteus — a figure of light and knowledge — the record explores the delicate tension between weight and weightlessness, minimal form and maximal emotion. Across four originals and two masterful remixes from K-Lone and Maara, Not Even Noticed map a territory where low-swung basslines pulse like a heartbeat beneath vaporous melodies, and whispered vocals guide the listener toward ecstatic release. It’s a transmission you feel as much as you hear, a document of artists expanding their craft while remaining faithful to their understated pulse.

To accompany our conversation, the duo have prepared an exclusive mix for Bolting Bits’ MIXED BY series — a glimpse into their current orbit, stitched together with the same care and subtlety that defines their studio work. In the interview that follows, we dive into the mythic inspirations and meticulous processes behind Eteus, the evolution of their collaboration, and the philosophies driving one of electronic music’s most quietly compelling acts.

MIXED BY/ not even noticed

We’re happy to announce “Planetary Shift” by our friend O-Wells with an additional
remix by Bangkok's finest Sarayu from More Rice. An EP that combines friendship and is a
long overdue Ozelot-cosmos release.
After we heard “Planetary Shift” a while ago for the first time, we kept insisting on releasing
it- Now we’re happily presenting it to you in the form of a 4 track EP.
The record orbits around O-Wells’ signature style: dub-inflected drums, slithering synth lines,
and percussive patterns that never sit still. There’s a sleek futurism to these tracks, but they
feel worn-in, like spacecraft that have already charted the edges of known space. Across the
EP, O-Wells embraces tension and release—rolling low-end pressure that swells, only to
dissolve into weightless melodic fragments. The result is music that feels in constant flux,
forever shifting through sonic terrain without losing its pulse.
Anchoring the EP is a remix from Sarayu, a key voice from Southeast Asia’s flourishing
electronic scene. Known for threading traditional rhythmic sensibilities into contemporary
club frameworks, Sarayu flips O-Wells' abstract groove into something tactile and urgent. His
version turns the track inside out—primal percussion and humid atmospheres pushing the
original’s spacious minimalism toward a more grounded, earthy palette. It’s a vital rework
that expands the release’s global reach, bridging Frankfurt and Bangkok through the shared
language of rhythm and friendship.

"Signs of Life" launches a new annual series for the label, existing alongside its ambient & downtempo "Daisy Records Volumes" counterpart. Where the latter drifts inward, this series leans into the smoke-filled after hours, where boundaries dissolve and form blurs.

Featuring a mix of new northern hemisphere friends alongside the label’s enduring Australian roots, swampy minimal, shadowy tech house, hypnotic dub-techno, breakbeats, and trance-tinted excursions converge here. It’s an initiation into another side of the label, tripped-out, and lost in the haze.

Q. What sounds or feelings did you draw upon when gathering inspiration for this mix, and what listening environments could you imagine it being best enjoyed in?

A. First off, I want to thank you for letting me be part of this incredible mix series :‘) what an honor! As a big fan of MDC I wanted to tap into a deeper, more mysterious side of myself while still holding onto the sound that feels like “me”. I tried to let the mix slowly build into that, so you can hear different influences coming through before it settles where it needs to be.

As for the ideal listening environment... I like thinking about how it can live in different contexts. That’s why I love when people surprise me with where they play my mixes. Someone once told me they put one on at an orgy which might be the highest compliment I’ve ever received. So yeah, whatever place you’re in (physical or emotional) if it fits, it fits.

Q. Are there any records in the mix that you were especially excited to share, and what is it about these songs that resonate with you so much?

A. The opening track export city by project runaway from 2020 really captures the kind of rhythm I’m into right now. It’s built around infectious percussion and a sleek, pulsing groove. It kinda mirrors internal restlessness and the desire to move which is what draws me in I guess. 

The closing track No Reason by Vertical Blank from 1993 has these darkwave vocals that feel sad and euphoric at the same time. It’s got this “the end is near but you’re not sure if that’s good or bad“ energy which sounds strange but that ambiguity is exactly why it resonates with me.. if that makes sense? 

Q. I know you’re a big advocate of community focussed DIY parties, what are some events you’ve played over the last year that you’ve felt best embody community spirit, and what do you feel are some of the most important elements required to achieve it?

A. Two of my favorite gigs this year were Earth Dog in NYC and noclubs in Amsterdam. Both were proper DIY raves in secret locations, built entirely from scratch with great sound and music by great people who genuinely care. What made each of them so special was how much they embodied real community spirit: everyone contributing, looking out for each other and creating a space that truly feels owned by the people in it. 

You feel it in how accessible and transparent everything is, in the shared ownership and in the effort to keep things affordable while inviting diverse voices into both the lineup and the organization. Being part of experiences like these makes people feel safe and part of something they get to shape, rather than just attend. And I think that’s a key element. Big up to both crews and anyone out there for keeping that culture alive and staying real and true to themselves!

The next CKFM comes to you courtesy of Ben (Dublin) and Hassan (Baghdad born, Yorkshire raised), two promoters/musicians based in Berlin and 2/3 of Worthwhile Tangents. Having taken their sound all over Europe the collective focuses on delivering the unexpected; kilter grooves across a wide range of sub-genres, all delivered in the form of packed out club nights and festival takeovers. These 2 pulled this mix together earlier this year to hone in on a 1 hour journey that captures the range of sounds spun out at the moment and the vibe of Worthwhile Tangents. Our first mix of 2026 is courtesy of Naarm-based DJ, Charlie, who co-runs the Deuce party series alongside Jimmy (aka Ambedo).

For this mix, Charlie delves deep into a slightly different side of her sound. Traversing Café-del-Mar chillout, to dub techno and liquid d'n'b, this epic three hours delivers the most perfect summer soundtrack.
