and the Open Mic
had just begun.
Mark was up
and he hadn't quite finished
his very first song.

And the bar was buzzing

had so much fun in store.
When the relative peace
was shattered
by what came through the door.

and blood-shot eyes.
Legs as stout

It booled along to the
