Born in the USA, growing up in Tanzania, studying in Finland, and having the opportunities to travel to other countries in addition to these, the landscape of my life has been ever changing. I value the new colors and skies, and learn something, leave something, and love something in each new place I go. The steady rays of daybreak, thunder, rain, the kiss of the sun, the gentle caress of the moon. All bring benefit and play a part in the cycle of the sky and earth. In the same way the different experiences and process of growing up and growing stronger in life mirror the changing skies, with its unpredictability, its light, and its darkness. There have many changing skies in my life, shades of joy, shadows of grief, and the hundreds of colors in between. It was my wish to share a glimpse of this landscape both physical and emotional in this concert and to create a constellation of music that reflects my personal journeys in the last two plus years since the life changing experience of GLOMAS.

Megan Ndale is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter & teacher studying in the GLOMAS (Nordic Masters of Global Music) program. She was born in the USA and lived 10 years of her life in Tanzania, giving her a wide background of musical experiences, including East-African dance, folk & jazz.

Trained as a Classical cellist, Megan is a versatile singer of many styles, plays folk fiddle and hand percussion; drawing from this exciting palette of musical references goes some way to understanding her unique musical and artistic voice.

Megan completed her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Tumaini University Makumira (Tanzania)as well as her master's degree in Global Music (GLOMAS) from Sibelius Academy (Finland) and has extensive teaching experience across different cultures to a wide variety of students; she has taught in Tanzanian secondary schools, and has conducted workshops in the United States, Tanzania, Kenya, Finland and Denmark. Furthermore she has performed as a soloist and ensemble member in the USA, Tanzania, Kenya, Malaysia, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, and Germany.

She is passionate about bringing people of different walks together through the arts, and transmitting the joy and life-changing abilities resulting from simply playing music.
