We are really excited to have our Brighton based Wunderkind ‚Josh Brown‘ back at it again for our forthcoming EP. Once again showing off his versatility and capturing the current zeitgeist of European underground dance music while not neglecting his UK roots at any time. 
 
1) ‚Gargle‘ has been making huge waves and can’t wait to turn your tea party into a proper mosh pit. No seriously, this one will make you just loose your face! Crank it up.
 
2) 'Want 2‘ is that warehouse anthem everybody is seeking for desperately without asking for nothing. It’s that track the bar tender leaves the bar for to rush the DJ because Shazam failed to deliver. This is not even made up and happened on a regular during our US tour and reportedly in clubs all across Europe. #Techno can stay in the box as Josh has came here to deliver! 
 
3) Josh has came to surprise and test current definitions, blur constructed boundaries and push things further. Considering his tender age of 22 one would think he might be just taking the piss by submitting a timeless piece of authentic Jungle that the veterans of the scene struggle to create. But as our label consists of 50% Drum and Bass veterans we didn’t even have to consider to not put Josh’s 'Gully Dub‘ to the list.

It’s time to pack up the car and our daredevil is excited for the final of his many “Road Trips” across the vast continent. He throws on the booming stereo in the auto, while nodding his head to the reverberating and lengthy bass under the scattered layers of a somehow dark, but uplifting organ progression. The open road is his muse on his journey to the ocean.

The waves are rolling in on this crisp summer day in Cape Town and he feels confident. “Boom clap boom clap boom clap” is what he hears from the strong current striking against the rocks on the shoreline. He feels the persistent rhythm of the South Atlantic Ocean as he paddles out under the sinking sun. The warrior mounts the first swell perfectly and utters a subconscious, yet triumphant “Uh” as he descends from the peak. 

The sun begins to reach the horizon and the colors of the sky bounce and refract through the water, giving the scene an almost psychedelic feel. The seagulls click through the water searching for prey and they create scattered synths and sonorous cymbals from under the water. This whole day is really starting to get “Kinda Wavy.”

We Are The Brave front man Alan Fitzpatrick provides the labels next release with a typically incendiary two-tracker. Delving deep into his record collection for inspiration, the result is a brace of distinct, ear-catching cuts that tip a hat to by-gone times in rave culture and have returned big reactions from contemporary crowds all summer. 

The aptly titled “They All Called ‘Em Garys” combines droning hardcore hoovers and power piano with Fitzpatrick’s trademark heavy tech funk. While “Rhino” adopts a slung-back groove of resounding bass and tense pads overlaid with a knockout melody that bubbles away before unleashing its full chord progression through an unashamedly epic breakdown.

Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave label has been busy laying down foundations for the past twelve months. The run-away success of their debut single “We Do What We Want” is far from the entire story. Much of the last year has been spent “getting their hands dirty”; nurturing new talent (such as Boxia, whose “Point Of No Return” hit set summer stages alight), developing and establishing an events concept (via WATB parties in Manchester, London, Glasgow and Ibiza), and gathering like-minded artists and their music together to support the labels burgeoning release schedule. 

We Are The Brave was set up as a community. At the core of this enterprise is the spirit of collaboration. A partnership between like-minded creatives. An alliance between artists and fans. A hub for sharing ideas and for working together. Nowhere has this spirit been most apparent than between the growing partnership between Alan Fitzpatrick and Darius Syrossian. Individually, they are both figureheads of brands and headliners in their own right, however, both are open-minded enough to realize that they are stronger together than they are competing for every inch of space within an increasingly overcrowded market.   

“It’s great to see how Alan operates. It's normal for him to be a resident for a party like Do Not Sleep in Ibiza but at the same time pushing his own We Are The Brave brand and instead of this creating a conflict, he manages to create a win-win for all sides. He is such a down-to-earth and humble guy but he makes unreal music and brings just as much passion when he DJs.”   

Indeed, it is that same unpretentious sentiment that is at the core of Syrossian’s “Made For Manchester”, as Syrossian explains, “I was a weekly resident in Manchester from 2008 to 2015 and the city means the world to me as a built a strong connection with the crowd there. I don’t get to play the city as often as I’d like now due to my touring schedule, so I wanted to make a track for the city, one that I know has my signature sound but also an emotive feel to show home much love I have for Manchester”. 

And Syrossian’s thoughts on Fitzpatrick’s remix? “I love the fact that Alan can bring old skool rave sounds back into his music while keeping it underground. My original is quite heavy in parts and the breakdown is very main room, but Alan has put a perfect twist on the original and together the two tracks make for a perfect package”

We Are The Brave launched 2019 with Alan’s biggest release to date, the gargantuan 7 track ’11:11 The Awakening’ truly laying the path for a mega year ahead. With the House Party tour now firmly an annual fixture for the label, its family of artists have steadily been growing with some key releases along the way from Darius Syrossian, Reset Robot, Boxia, Gary Beck, Skream and Alan’s collab with Sasha.

Ronnie Spiteri has been one of those artists who has played many of the showcases over in the UK, and alongside Alan in Ibiza last summer for Do Not Sleep as one of their residents. ‘Talking To Nature’ marks his second EP on the label and also We Are The Brave’s 30th release!

The title track kicks things off on this EP with punctuating kick drum and scintillating hats. The track has a house inspired piano hook which makes its groove nostalgic and infectious. A mega big room breakdown hits just right, no doubt making this a festival hit.

“The EP is definitely one of my strongest releases to date – Talking To Nature was inspired by a Richy Ahmed track that I heard Nick Curly play at Time Warp; it was one of those inspirational moments that turns into a productive studio session and with Danny Howard premiering it on his BBC Radio 1 ADE special, it definitely came out as I hoped it would” says Ronnie

‘Spirits’ brings a pulsating low end with warmth and energy, whilst synth stabs boom alongside the sexy vocal hits, with a truly atmospheric breakdown. ‘Trust Yourself’ is a strong yet subdued track based around a really nice hook, some spoken style vocals and a heavy kick drum. 

"Ronnie is proving to be an unstoppable force, coined by friends and colleagues as “ronstoppable”, his music is powerful and full of swing. A true hero amongst the brave crew and an integral part of our vision" adds Alan.

With Topping describing the EP’s title track as the “heaviest” thing he’s ever produced, ‘Dungeon Freak’ is an unrelenting slab of rave techno, with Daddy Dino’s deadpan, spoken-word vocals only adding to it’s dark aura. Similarly cold and heavy, ‘Snide’ is a chunky, metallic number that continues to build in intensity across its seven minutes.     

“This EP is more like the vibe of ‘Watch What Your Doing’ EP. The title track is so dark, with mad ravey synths but the bit I’m most excited about is the vocal! 
“The phrase ‘the techno dungeon’ is really just a daft thing me and mates used to say years ago about when you are locked on the dancefloor and can’t leave because your so into the music. So it’s more a metaphorical place in your mind, than it is an actual dungeon or venue!”

TRICK was initially launched as a platform to exhibit Topping’s versatility as a producer, as well as a platform to showcase the wealth of emerging talent which he has been pushing in his DJ sets. Prior to ‘Dungeon Freak’ he has released two EPs on the label, ‘Watch What Ya Doing’ and ‘Turbo Time’. The latter of which was selected as the ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, gaining support from the likes of Gerd Janson, Denis Sulta, Fisher, Diplo, Eats Everything and Jamie Jones.

Roman Pears was born in Vienna in 1983, and Dani Tills was also born in Vienna in 1985.
In 2012, they founded “Pears & Tills” and a little bit later, followed their first tracks. In 2013 they joined to NB Records, one of the biggest Techno Label in Austria. Their tracks are supported by Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola ,Nicole Moudaber, Flash-X, The YellowHeads. Nicolas Bacher and many more. 
Pears & Tills knows how to convince with technics and music. 
But no one knows better than themself, that this success didn’t come over night. Infected with the virus of electronic music since the first big raves, Pears & Tills experienced the development of techno and rave closely. They was impressed by the sound of the early raves and Vienna nightlife. Thanks to their tireless commitment and their unmistakable music style, the early gathered their first gigs and elates the crowd with their mixture of rhythmic text grooves and punchy techno beats until today.
