Summer is here and it's an incredibly hectic time for me, with a heavy schedule of gigs highlighed by a historic 12 hour open to close solo set at Tomorrowland in Belgium, along with finishing the much awaited 2013 city series compilation and working on our special Global DJ Broadcast Sunrise Set and Coldharbour Day.

To get you warmed up for all of that, plus as something to keep my mind occupied while struggling to sleep lately, I've put together another exclusive Soundcloud Summer Mix for you all, this time being 2 hours long. 

Much like the Spring edition, consider it as a mini "best-of" GDJB from the past couple of months, along with a couple of oldies that consistently get requested..

Markus Schulz - Soundcloud Mix Summer 2013

It is one of the most anticipated Global DJ Broadcast episodes every year, and for many a highlight of the summer (no pressure guys!), where I dedicate myself to crafting a special 2 hour mix containing some of the most beautiful melodies and early morning moments that have graced the beaches and shores of Ibiza and beyond - the Sunrise Set.

After 3 months of preparation in ensuring that this would be a journey to remember and appreciated, I showcased it to the world on Global DJ Broadcast, and as requested by the fans, here it is for all of you to enjoy and stream at your leisure.

Claptone is a unique proposition in modern music. In his second artist album ‘Fantast’, the Claptone universe is at its deepest and most vivid. He is the master of his domain and in his most artful offering yet, the assured 13 tracks of 'Fantast' come together to create an album full of varied colours and atmospheric textures.

In music Claptone seeks not to create a world of secrecy, but one of great depth and intrigue. An enigma with a tireless desire for creativity and thirst for new music, Claptone has brought together a diverse group of collaborators such as Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, Blaenavon, Tender, Jones, Zola Blood, Austra’s Katie Stelmanis, The Boxer Rebellion’s Nathan Nicholson, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Joan As Police Woman and Matt Simons.  

'Over the last two years it has been a great pleasure to work on this album as a counterpoint to the hectic world of travelling as a DJ. To lose myself when making music, to dive into and create my very own realm of beauty. I admit it's a dreamy, a heartfelt, at times a naive and surely escapist album, but what to do if one - on the quest for his soul - develops a strong desire to go back to his roots, back to nature? Did I find myself on that journey? Rather not. But I found some beautiful moments in the green, out in the woods, out in the fields, under the moon and in the night, moments, which I want to share with you. And there is one thing I learned and now it can be told, I am and have always been a ‘Fantast’.'

We caught a glimpse of his ambition to produce a body of work in Claptone’s debut artist album 'Charmer' which has scored over 60million streams and counting, but it’s in 'Fantast' that Claptone really delves deeper into the art of songwriting. 

2018 will see another intense year of touring as a DJ with Claptone taking his immersive 'The Masquerade' event experience further, having built momentum over the last 18 months hosting events and stages in Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, Melbourne, Barcelona and New York and at festivals like Tomorrowland, Melt Festival, Elrow at Amnesia Ibiza, Green Valley in Brazil.

"Pecarlo" is an electronic dance music producer from Ireland that not many people would know of at the moment. His goal is to make that change, to share his music with as many people as possible around the world. Back in 2002, Pecarlo heard his first trance record "HIM - Join Me (Lightforce Dance Mix)" and soon fell in love with the genre. Having had a lot of difficulties in his teenager years, including moving from Lithuania to Ireland in 2005 which was particularly challenging for him, he found that electronic dance music was there to help him to get through all the hard times. He soon came to realise that this was what he really needed to be able to understand how music can change people and help them get through bad times. That's why he started to DJ in 2008, he picked up the cheapest belt drive turntables there was, so he could learn the hard way and really understand what it meant to dj back then. At the age of 16 he snook into a nightclub where a DJ competition was being held, signed up for it and played his first gig to a 100+ people (15 min mix). That was the moment when he knew he needed to start producing tracks for the people around the world, so he could travel across the globe and play his mind out to as many people as possible. Pecarlo had his first track released back when he was 18. It gained a lot of support from a lot of DJ's and Producers. Shortly after this, he was asked to remix a track, which was later released and got huge support from all over the world, including the Trance legend "Paul Oakenfold". Since then, Pecarlo has been trying to improve on his sound and production skills for better and bigger sounds. Prepare to expect more from Pecarlo in the near future because this is only the beginning for this young artist.
