'The Hard & The Wild' is a story of two young lovers, already hardened and tested by life, who know that love doesn't last forever. The world always has other plans. But this fatal certainty only makes their time together more precious. 
The song plays out like a short movie accompanied by thoughtful production and a layered and evocative soundtrack. Beginning on a plucked acoustic guitar and gradually building to a crescendo as the story reaches its tragic yet inevitable conclusion.

Has your life turned out exactly as you planned? Or have a few things gone wrong? Well, 'Where are the Lifeboats?' is about that very thing.
The lyrics are like a collection of short stories, where each character’s life has not turned out as planned, and there are no lifeboats coming to save them! Despite the weighty topic the song is delivered with a certain gallows humour and slacker rock swagger. 
Peco's folk, Americana and classic indie-rock influences are all evident in this bitter sweet, yet strangely uplifting song.

Where are the Lifeboats?

I was watching the Sopranos one night, the episode where Uncle Junior sings 'Core Ngrato'. It reminded me of the songs my grandfather would sing. There was something very disarming about these tough older men singing these unapologetically emotional songs.I wanted to write a song like that.

A Good Heart - Peco

Peco's latest release is not so much a step out of his comfort zone as a leap into a whole new world. 'Wait' first appeared on Peco's album of 2018 'The Middle Ages' as a Wilco-esque folk rocker. He handed it over to DJ and producer Ansonix to do with as he liked and the result is a stomping anthem with all the dark moodiness of its predecessor but with a complete electro pop overhaul.

The song is mid-tempo Americana tinged Indie-folk, with some very thoughtful production and a hook that will refuse to leave your head for some time after listening.
The subject matter is that of the search for mindfulness and calm in a period of chaos and turmoil. Peco sings of time being the only currency that matters. Something we can all relate to after the last year. Ironically the song was written prior to the advent of Covid, as a comfort to a friend in crisis.

Peco is an Irish artist who's music is a blend of Folk, Americana and Indie-Rock. His songs combine strong melodies with insightful and imaginative lyrics. Peco has something to say but likes to do so with a hook or two!
