This - work in progress - is an audio response to the individual cantos (verses) in the 14th Century work ‘Inferno’ from Dante Alighieri’s ‘The Divine Comedy’.  

Eventually, the album will contain 34 instalments charting the author’s descent through the 9 circles of Hell, guided by the Roman poet Virgil. Each track will elicit a sense of the canto through modified found samples to produce a modern hybrid of Hell.

Contemporary audio relics of a bygone future - these 'audio doodles' are a collaged combination of garageband / freesound / archive.org creative commons and public domain samples - hastily hacked together in response to themes and events at a particular moment. These pieces are an attempt to explore my real job as a design lecturer via audio alternatives to visual media with a hope of seeing a progression of ability and ideas over time. The accompanying images are captured whilst being a pedestrian in this world.

The tracks exist as little collections that are ordered to work together as a grouping of ideas around a theme. Often I upload tracks, a couple at a time, listen to them and edit as i go - so check for updates on anything you hear.
