An arrangement I made a few months back of "Married Life" from Disney Pixar's 'Up', composed by Michael Giacchino.  I had heaps of fun making this, especially in deciding which instruments to use each time the main theme is reintroduced.  And to all those who haven't yet watched the movie, get on it!  It'll make you laugh (and cry) and it's definitely not one to miss! Enjoy :)

This is the first in a series of eight easy, acoustic, rather short and inconclusive tracks, which I’ve assembled by working on new and reworking on some old material adding parts and sounds. 
Will anything actually happen in the end? Unlikely. Definitely not here. Here it’s a montage of bare arpeggios in various keys.
I recorded this some weeks ago: sorry about the guitar sound, the string squeak is a bit too much; now, I hope to have fixed that investing in a better and more expensive set of strings.

In case nothing happens - part 1 (night)*

Hello. Glad you dropped by. This song is about a romantic first date from my younger/wilder days. The music, for the most part, is raw and unschooled. That’s how I like it. And bear with me….. I am fairly new to singing and my voice is definitely all over the place on this. The song takes a lyrical turn and I just don’t know how to sing it yet. I’ll figure it out. It was the summer of 1976. (I know… I’m old.) I had just bought my first car, and took a job as a wilderness ranger in the deep woods up north… It was 35 miles to the nearest town. We got one day off a week. At the local town dance, I asked a woman if she wanted to dance. That was a disaster. This is about our first date at a kegger in the woods the following weekend. She was a townie, I was an outsider. Those situational dynamics were not in our favor. The song portrays my young naiveté surrounding our encounter and the heartbreak that followed. It also contains some mythical romantic enchantment insofar as flying, among other things… Yes, it’s a short song, with no chorus, and me hollering away in a gravelly voice… but there are some nifty guitar solos. So it’s got that going for it. Hahaha. Hope you’re having fun out there. Mark
