Returning to the form that first propelled him to stardom in the ’90s, Herbert’s Let Yourself Go Mix maintains the subtle beauty of the original while upping the ante for the dance floor. He rearranges Gry’s vocal, working a hook around a playful sprinkling of his signature sample edits before unloading entirely with a heavy organ groove that takes the tune into sublime territory. This time around, on the receiving end of our special treatment we find an instrumental ‘harp only’ version of a well known christmas song; the very old-school Le Cantique de Noël. We went to a strange place with this one, fusing drums, choir and SFX together to create a version that perhaps is a bit like what a person in the early 1970′s could imagine christmas music would sound like in the future. The future, like in 2010.

Le Cantique de Noël

http://www.liveforfilms.com Star Waves is a track from the Oblivion Soundtrack. M83 and Joseph Trapanese put it together for the Joseph Joseph Kosinski directed film.  The score features a hybrid of the traditional M83 electronic sound combined with sweeping orchestral elements. It has 16 score cues, along with a brand new song by M83 featuring Norwegian singer-songwriter Susanne Sundfør used as the end title for the film.
