This is an acid techno type track. The suspended triads and overall sus 7th constant structure harmony create a heady sound with a little edge due to the acid elements. Granular fills, beat repeats and stutter edits take the role of fills  and rhythmic/timbric variations at the end and middle of bars along with some circuit bending samples I had handy. In this track i really combine the use of digital sample manipulation with true analog instruments and  analog synthesis.

This an Original Jazz Funk tune by my first Jazz group: The MotherFunkers. The A section is a straight funk groove with a nice Baritone/Guitar arrangement. The B section morphs into a Reggae section with a line cliche progression similar to that of "Concrete Jungle by Bob Marley, which goes into the solos with some nice tight hits. Improvisation is based on Bb7/Bb#9 Chord so it's completely modal. The Reggae section just modulates down a whole step to Ab7.

This is a single by my DJ Producer Duo "Seven Ate 7". This was a Halloween release track. It's a Deep tech House with a lot of analog subtractive synth sounds, a funky ass groove, granular percussion and some crazy vocal samples. Modal Harmony.Great track for a DJ set.

This an arrangement of Herbie Hancocks' "Watermelon Man" by The Motherfunkers. The groove is faster than the original, which gives it a little more tight feel, especially during the hits. The B Section turns into a swung rock feel and back into the A section with those hits! Enjoy. This a Preview Mix for the "MOTHERFUNKER EP" releasing in 2020.

"Rock Fort Dub" by Pedro Prats Band

My name is Pedro Prats AKA P-Squared(P2) and I am the founder of Drop and Roll Records. Drop and Roll Records is a label that deals with experimental music. Everything from Jazz Fusion, Avant Garde Jazz, Prog Rock, Reggae Dub, Ambient Electronica, IDM, Jazz Electronica and everything in beetween.I am a Musician/ Bass Player/Composer/Sound Engineer/Designer and label owner. My formal studies started with a BA in Popular Music for Electric Bass at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. I received a Scholarship to go to Berklee College of Music in 2006 where i completed a double BA in Jazz Performance for Electric Bass and Electronic Production & Sound Design, which was a life changing experience for me. In 2011 I came back to Puerto Rico where I  just kept on with all the projects I had at home like The Jabali Orkestra, Pedro Prats Trio, Fijty-Ston, Sevun Ate 7, P-Squared Dub Collective, among others. I also started teaching Sound Engineering/Music Theory at the Colegio de Cinematografia, Artes y Television in 2012  for 5 years. I received my Avid Pro Tools Certification during those years, which was another goal I was able to obtain. Im currently completing my Masters Degree in Composition and Music Education at The Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. 
     My electroacoustic projects are based on a Jazz/Jam Band format and/or Improvisational Reggae Dub. Besides being a Bass Player I also had a DJ project called Sevun Ate 7. This project released 2 EP’s and a couple of singles & mixes.
     In the last 3 years ive been working much more in the studio; mixing, mastering and  designing sound with analogue synthesizers than playing live. I released my first 2 solo albums in 2016 and 2017 called “Aka P-Squared Vol 1 & 2” on Rodz Town Records. Currently i’m working on my first solo jazz album and my third solo electronic album that will be out on Drop and Roll Recs. I've recently released a couple of singles from that upcoming electronic EP called "Creature of Habit EP"so be on the lookout for a lot of music! Were' just getting started over here.
