::Biography::

Hi, I'm Pedro Sullivan, 20 years old. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. My first contact with music and instruments was at the age of 5 when I started playing the piano. I used to study in a Catholic school and took piano lessons there till I was 11 years old or so.

My first contact with a drum set was around the age of 9 when I saw my cousin drumming and asked him to teach me a beat. Of course he taught me the classic 4/4 rock beat and it felt so good it made me want more of this feeling which piano never gave me: the sense of freedom, love and the possibility to unload each and every feeling I needed the way I wanted.

Unfortunately, I lived in a building with 6 apartments per floor and no one would ever let me get myself a drumset, but as soon as we moved, I was already 12, almost 13 years old and my parents got me my first drum set. It was a RMV (Brazilian National brand of drums) with only a HiHat and a Crash cymbal. I started playing that 4/4 rock beat my cousin taught me 4 years ago and I never stopped playing it in my very own air drums. Soon I started improving by watching drum videos and trying to imitate other drummers in their records and trying to vary the beat I knew.

When I was almost 15, I heard that some of my friends had a band and their drummer just left the band for personal reasons and decided I would try it. It would be the first serious band I would have. With this band I got to play some awesome gigs and got to know new cities around the south-east of Brazil and I'm pretty much grateful for all the support the guys gave me and how they made me improve my drumming.

When I was 18, I decided I had to get together my own band so I could play the genres I love the most but the band broke up after personal divergences, that's what they said by the time. But the guitarist still wanted to make his dream come true, and so did I, and we formed a new band called VENICE which is rising all the way and with only 3 months after being released, already has 5,000 likes on Facebook, which is really impressive for a Brazilian pop rock band singing in Portuguese. We released the band in November 2012 and I was 20 years old by the time.

After several requests by friends and bandmates, I decided, by the age of 20, that I should record some drum covers/remixes in studio quality and great video quality and upload it on Youtube, so I recorded a series of videos and will be releasing in some time from now in my channel.

That's pretty much how I started to started and advanced in my love for drumming and music. And not to forget: I'm self taught but I still plan to find myself a teacher to improve even more my drumming and teach me new styles of music, like samba, brazilian popular music and jazz probably because I believe the more complete you can get the better and no one is complete if he/she cannot play as many different styles as he could ever try to play.

After all, my plan is to keep up with my band and tour all the way around Brazil and outside of it if possible and promote my Youtube project with drum covers/remixes as much as possible.
