Rakim — Heat It Up (Pb29 remix) [cuts By Spion Y]

An old friend of mine came up with this guitar-sample of Leonard Cohen. We were both catched by the melody and i started to produce a beat based on that sound.
After that we sat together, rearranging stems and adding synths to the instrumental. Meanwhile, the young and promissing MC Disarstar heard it and chose it to write a song about Hamburg. 
For the release, we had to re-record the guitar chords due to licensing.
Disarstar wrote a stunning text and recorded a really honest song about the city. You can have a listen here:

Growing up in a small city close to Hamburg, Pb29 is working as a producer & remixer. 
Musically socialised by german rap music in the beginning, he got into beatmaking at the age of 16. Sooner, sample-based productions of international artists like DJ Shadow, RJD2 and underground producers like Mr. Son of Dark Circle paved his style of production.
He worked with and for artists from Keller, Audiolith and Showdown under different AKA's.
