Back in the late '80s I started presenting a radio show on the then TripleM (which is now 3DFM)
... er that'd be me, Paul Kitching (aka _peekay here in SoundCloudVille)... I need to point out that I was never a DJ who beat-mixed... I just pressed play on songs I liked... so this is all pretty amateur but with excellent music... clearly biased I am!

My first show was on the 27th October 1987 and over the time it progressed to become a full on dance music show by 1989 called LET ME CLEAR MY THROAT with all tunes celebrating all forms of dance music which was pretty well underground only in those days - with commercial radio lost in a world of rock, pop, pap and more... this was the real dance music being played at the cool clubs around town.

This is a recording of one of those shows - late in the piece in early 1990 before I head off overseas resulting  in the end of my show. This one features all kinds of tunes from house to rap to more... and features the usual mix of crew who came into the studio every Tuesday night for my show from 11pm - 1am. 

THIS show actually features the Australian actor Marcus Graham in the studio which is a lil left of centre I know but it all came about because I'd seen him at one of the clubs on the previous Sat night - think it was Le Rox, but may have been Metro - hmmm, not sure, and asked him if he wanted to come onto my show as I would be playing the music he was enjoying there... and that we could talk about his character on E Street as well as why he was in town (shooting a mini Series for C10 as it turns out - SHADOWS OF THE HEART).

This show also features me embarrassingly saying hi to my Mum and Dad, talking with a weird American accent at some point and reading out all kinds of weird and wonderful letters I got sent - and shout-outs that people constantly called the studio for me to read...
There's even a letter I read by one John Mills (now John Thompson Mills) about the then recent DMC National DJ Mixing Final and a lil dispute. HA!

That and lots of references to The Metro, Carmello (HMC), Shannoozie, Tristan, Waste, Darlene, Jason (on the phones), my girlfriend at the time Amanda and lots more... plus Kangaroo Island gets a good rap as well!

By all means FFWD through the yapping, sit back and enjoy the tunes as I indulge in some of my past!! Them were the daze indeed!! ;)
