Unethical behavior within organizations is not rare. Peev & Realitycheck investigate experimentally the role of status-seeking behavior in sabotage and cheating activities aiming at improving one's performance ranking in a flat-wage environment. 
They find that average effort is higher when individuals are informed about their relative performance. However, ranking feedback also favors disreputable behavior. Some individuals do not hesitate to incur a cost to improve their rank by sabotaging others' work or by increasing artificially their own performance. 
Introducing sabotage opportunities has a strong detrimental effect on performance. Therefore, ranking incentives should be used with care. Inducing group identity discourages sabotage among peers but increases in-group rivalry.

Impeccable sound design graces PEEV’s timeless “Medea/Inflict”. Textures have such rich crystal clarity for the production is perfection.  Sounds skitter about with huge amounts of weirdness added into the proceedings for additional disorientation. By opting for such a wide swath of genres to draw from, running the gamut from electro-acoustic, ambient, minimalism, and jungle stripped of all bombast, what remains is a skeletal version of these elements, one which remains unknowable.

Nearly beatless is the ambient sheen of “Medea” the opener. Within this sound PEEV explores an elasticity of sorts. The way the sound is stretched and distorted gives it a physical, anxious presence. No melody, rhythm only in small dollops, the song sounds akin to that of a house of mirrors, with noises reflected and refracted off each other. Quite surprising, the song adheres to no discernible genre. By maintaining such a loose, improvised approach PEEV sculpts a sonic universe who only certainty is unpredictability. Much easier in terms of overall temperament is the eerie atmosphere of “Inflict”. Continuing much of PEEV’s penchant for the flexible, the song develops and grows in a myriad number of ways. Easily the highlight of the collection a beat anchors the entirety of the piece, at times flirting with jungle-like rhythms. Spacious in scope the song sprawls out, unfurling with geometric precision. Ending things on a high note, the song’s rather elegant approach results in fantastic, almost jazz-like lushness.

PEEV’s “Medea/Inflict” refuses to be easily pigeonholed, resulting in a sound that defies categorization.

Beginning life in February of this year, French label Music For Commercials' mission is focused on environmental preservation, recycling old materials like floppy discs and VHS cassette tapes to house the music. After a compilation featuring around 14 artists, they're returning with their sophomore release, an EP from Realitycheck and Peev, which will be available on VHS. The two French producers—the former known for his releases on Unknown To The Unknown and Renascence and the latter for his ambient productions and Rinse FM residency–come together for three original tracks that match their tastes for mysterious atmospheres and tight drum work.

Naulot, music as a visual manifestation, sound as a picture.
The notes coming from this young Lyon producer are irrigated by the graphical possibilities and the optical forces striking down his retina.
Leave, his first EP forthcoming in March 2013, will, with his ambient kinetic techno and atmospherical vivration, complete this singular reunion between the idea and the reflection, the rythm and the relics, the accoustic wave and the daydream.

I chose to remix Birds because of the nice contrast the track features between high harmonies and steady drum patterns. I plugged a lot of my analog effects to remix the original elements, hence the "Daisy Chain Rework" name.
The original track you'll be able to buy soon from BEBUP is really exciting, just like the whole EP that will be fully featured with a lot of nice remixes.

As Summer Solstice is approaching, my dear friend @nuitmusic and I reunited to write another chapter to our "Dialogues" series on the 15th of June 2020 at midnight on @rinse_france.
This chapter is called "Dialogue à la Lumière du Temps Nouveau", which means "A conversation in the light of new times". It's a meaningful title, as we enter the longest days of the year, but also times full of hope, enlightened by visions of a better, fairer, stronger and less divided mankind.
