It is a breathing ritual — a submerged memory woven in pulse, mist, and ancestral vibration.

Each bass line exhales like the landó rhythms lost in the ocean fog.
Each percussion hit is not meant for dancing — but for remembering.

Born in the E minor resonance, infused with Afro-Peruvian ghosts, and textured by the underwater trip-hop spirit, this album invites the body not to move outwardly, but to move inward.
To breathe with hips.
To listen through the skin.
To awaken memory not as nostalgia — but as vibration.

You will hear no sharpness here.
Only warm bass, seeds of percussion, wind carrying forgotten songs, and a heartbeat submerged in the mist.

Grooves evolve like underwater currents — unseen but undeniable.
Textures whisper like ancient water spirits — real but ungraspable.

Nacido en la resonancia de Mi menor, impregnado de ecos afroperuanos y texturizado por el espíritu del underwater trip-hop, este álbum invita al cuerpo no a moverse hacia afuera, sino hacia adentro.

Ugandan DJ and producer Jenifa Mayanja made her name in the New York house music scene in the ’90s as a buyer for the respected (but now defunct) Dancetracks record store, regularly DJing at underground parties and working for Joe Claussell and his Spiritual Life label. Partly inspired by the latter, she’s an active figure in three labels – Bu-Mako Recordings, her own project, Sound Warrior, which she runs with Dakini9, and EDJ Records, which she runs with her husband Jus-Ed. As well as DJing and running labels Jenifa is an accomplished producer: focusing on the soulful grooves of deep house music, the uplifting melodies and harmonies of soul and R&B; across nearly two dozen singles and EPs and two solo albums, 2007’s Stream of Consciousness and 2011’s Woman Walking In The Shadows. This month, Jenifa will release the Warrior Loves double compilation on Sound Warrior – featuring original productions by female artists such as the late Cherushii, who the release is dedicated to – and this May, Jenifa will release her third solo album What A Strange Dream on Bu-Mako Recordings.
