You can totally make a song using this software. It's functional but limited. limitation sometimes breeds creativity. You will need a lot of time to make it sound modern.
If you only had a switch and this software and you wanted to make music, you can.
Otherwise get youself a DAW.

Also, you cannnot export the file on the Nintendo Switch Version. You need to record it somehow.
