some of the music I have been listening to over the past couple of months and thought I would put together a summary into a set, might not all blend together but at the time it made perfect musical sense. 

It is also a celebration of the the birth of my son Luan, my aim is to produce a sets that acts as a kind of time stamp for me to remember the time. The time over the last couple of months was special so here it is LUANOWAHOI

I am still trying to capture time using music... this time I was home in Cape Town, South Africa. One month work one month parent time (alternzeit). During my time in Cape Town, I realised a few things family is important they've been with me on this journey and will be… I missed them and I missed spending time with them, especially with my mom. I was listening to a lot of South African house music, and it also inspired some of the track selection in this set.  The house scene in South Africa is evolving into fascinating direction, I will be keeping a close eyes on these developments and the local house producerers completely blow my mind.

In a few weeks I am moving to Konstanz to start a postdoc, so this set reflects the internal struggle of me moving from SA to DE... also completing my PhD and putting the final touches to my thesis. Opening Set Gutezeit Festival Green Stage

It has been a while since I last posted a set; this was because I was thinking about changing my name from Jambourine to Pencil Test. So with the new facelift comes the first Pencil Test set titled "Disorder to Entropy."

Being from a mix race origin, the name Pencil Test resonates with my ethnicity being born in the mother city Cape Town, South Africa but more specifically the Cape Flats. It reflects some of the internal struggles I had with my identity. How South Africas past had such a large influence on my idea of my character. Pencil Test also combines my past, my current scientific self and future unknown self.

Pencil Test is me giving birth to the idea, “that escaping from yourself is your enemy and accepting one's identity brings you closers to yourself and brings a deeper relieve to one's consciousness.” it might be the wise words of some dude or lady because it's too good to be my own…

why would I want to create a music channel... for me at least its a straightforward concept... in all these sets I am trying to freeze my life experience(time) using music... so when I play it again, it brings all those  memories of this specific period of my life back to memory... and so far its working so you hearing the experience of the time I spent on this planet via the music in these sets :)

Another points is my interests in the Quantum Entanglement phenomena between people listening and dancing to music they love and how music brakes cultural barriers.

music is an escape to somewhere... we all wish we could describe or understand the meaning of that somewhere... all we can do is listen, feel, dance, & experience what it is doing to our being... in whatever way you feel like interpreting it!
