Pendulum Swing is an alternative hard rock band, based in Imphal (Manipur), whose music, besides expressing their disappointments and frustrations resulting from a society affected by arm conflict and ill governance, strives to move people by their various elements of sound and story.
Laipubam Bhabananda Sharma, also known as Vabe, teamed up with his brother Laipubam Gajendra(Tingku), to start a rock band in 2011. After searching for suitable band mates and playing with different musicians for some time, they met Anoubam Bronajit(Bassist) and Nongthongbam Chingkhei (Drummer) and after which they named themselves as Pendulum Swing.
The band started off playing at small gigs and coffee shops. After being in the music circle, local and national, for 2 years; the band released their first full length album 'Life is Beautiful' on 12th Oct 2014, consisting of 8 tracks including Hunger of a Lady, Wind and Rain and Embrace the New.
The band has had lineup changes for the first time since the inception of Pendulum Swing. Its former drummer Chingkhei left the band recently and the band has been functioning without a Drummer and has been hiring session drummers for particular gigs!
