One of my favorite harmony songs of all time. I created this arrangement with four tight-knit, crossing vocal parts that layer on with each verse. This wonderful song is in the public domain and has travelled through many circles and traditions with many variations.

This is a recording used as a practice track for the Wholehearted Chorus of Monterey and Big Sur, CA, under the direction of Lisa G. Littlebird. Lyrics and individual part tracks can be found at:

Two years after the first installment, Adam Deitch returns to his NY boom bap roots, now filtered through the visuals of Colorado sunrises seen while finishing each track, to offer a seamless mix format on the sequel album Late Nite Collection II. Aiming at curating a harmonious compilation of tracks from his vault of beats, the drummer, producer and composer maneuvers through all echelons of positively charged downtempo beat orchestration with an emphasis on snapping snares, burly bass and textural synth interplay.

Penn Johnson’s music is folk medicine for the soul. Inspired by the fingerpicking expressions of generations past, conscious hip hop, and ancient songs passed down through alternative medicine – each song tells a story that encourages the listener to transmute their pain into blissful awareness. In what could be referred to as Shadow-Work Storytelling, every line of every lyric is carefully crafted to evoke deep emotional releases from the trauma and triggers associated with a human existence. Penn is often told by listeners that he puts to words the emotions they’ve been feeling, but are unable to portray or explain.

In his 10 years living the traveling life, Penn has performed alongside artists of nearly every genre including: Trevor Hall, Mike Love, Lizzy Jeff, Desert Dwellers, Feral The Earthworm, Yaima, The Elovaters, Bumpin’ Uglies, Daniel Waples, Sessions Americana, Justin Biltonen (3 Doors Down), and Christina Holmes, among hundreds of others.
