This was for a new night called Integrate that brings together multiple crews who have been integral in the Portland scene for some time.

 This was my take on it. Halftime dnb, liquid, dancehall structure and west coast bass music.

The Unemployed Mix

This is the mix I've been meaning to create and finish for quite some time. This is the sound, style, and timbre that I've been feeling as of late. It was recorded at 126bpm and contains some non-Floridian breaks, lots of garage, 2step, and halftime tunes. 

I've been saying for a year that this style contained here is where bass music is headed. I predict we'll see it a decent during festival season this year. 

Do not fear the full-time 120s fellow bassheads... The shit can, and does, bang.

A Fine Arrangement Of Quality Tunes

Alright, you lot listen up. Forget diamonds, forget rubies, the real treasure in this here game? It ain't rocks, it's tunes, pulsatin' right through your bleedin' eardrums. And the bloke who controls that treasure? That's Penny Wide Pupils, yours truly.

Now, some cats might think slangin beats is all about showmanship, flamin' lights, and girls prancing around in cages. Bullshit! It's about feelin' the rhythm, understandin' the pulse of the crowd. You gotta know when to drop the bass like a brick on a bender, when to ease 'em in with a smooth groove like a getaway driver navigatin' back alleys.

See, I ain't just playin' records, I'm tellin' a story. One minute you're in a grimey warehouse in the industrial district and the next you're in a dust-drenched playa, esplanade party - all without leavin' the god damnclub. And the best part? You don't need a passport, just a good pair of dancin' shoes and the willingness to let the music take you for a ride.

Some say Penny Wide Pupils is a bit of a gangster, a bit rough around the edges. Maybe so. But when the lights dim and the first beat drops, you won't be thinkin' about my manners, you'll be lost in the music, movin' your bits like you won the lottery.
