Arabella Steinbacher has firmly established herself as one of today’s leading violinists on the international concert scene, where her mastery of the violin frequently joins forces with the world’s major symphony orchestras. Steinbacher’s feeling for the timeless melodies on this CD runs as deep as her technical command is great. The result is lyricism of the highest order. The album opens with a lush arrangement of Max Bruch’s much-loved, yet surprising, Violin Concerto No. 1, followed by two exquisite pieces: Chausson’s Poème and Steinbacher’s acclaimed interpretation of Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major.

The Marriage of Figaro, is a comic opera in four acts composed by Mozart in 1786 featuring an Italian libretto written by Lorenzo Da Ponte. It premiered at the Burgtheater in Vienna on 1 May 1786. The opera's libretto is based on a stage comedy by Pierre Beaumarchais, La folle journée, ou le Mariage de Figaro.

The Marriage of Figaro is now regarded as a cornerstone of the standard operatic repertoire, and it appears among the top ten at the Operabase list of the most-performed operas worldwide.
