For our 16th installment we're pleased to present Biloba Green - a project by Michele Andreotti and Toni Dimitrov.

Their name "derives from the scientific denomination of the Ginkgo leaf, an ancient and beneficial tree, inextricably linked to the ancestral significance of natural symbols."

Together they search for "new sonic combinations capable of restoring an evocation of the union of electronic sound and nature, expressed in the continuous flow of acoustic sources and electronic transformations."

Respected underground mainstay Irakli, the Georgian-born, Berlin-residing creator of the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound label, provides the next selection for arch: edition X.9.

Known for his vivacious brand of electronics ranging from sci-fi infected idm and ambient, to morphing contemporary techno, the busy artist recorded a spacial, textural mix exploring the melodic end of the drone spectrum, juxtaposing vintage electronica bleeps with ultra-modern experimental transmissions.

The marine forms abound in the sea depths, in marshes which are flooded at high tide, in shallow inlets and the muddy bottoms underlying the sandy surface of the seashore. The fresh water forms are plentiful on the mossy stones of mountain streamlets, pools bordering rivulets, dripping rocks.

Vol. 52 comes courtesy of Justin Cantrell aka ju ca, an Australia based musician and founder of the label Daisart. His deep interest in the finer details of sound is evident in his own music and the label he runs that most recently released Haji K’s quiet stunner of a record “Black Against An Orange Line”. Justin is also an avid digger of Australian music, and has some very exciting projects in relation to that coming up soon. His most recent album “Chasms” was released on Angoisse in February of this year and comes highly recommended!

In the shimmering sunlight the city was a transparent lake, but as the sun crept down the city dissolved into a veiling grey horizon. I remember the faint remoteness as I stared out to my hometown of Los Angeles. I had recently moved back home and had expected for the rush of nostalgia to bloom into a previous self. However, there was instead a stillness that seemed to be waiting for something. The rolling hills before me arched up and down but only seemed to descend. The moments that followed dilated around me and I took solace in knowing that I was truly happy again.

This progression of music tries to embody the slowed and slurred first moments of my days rediscovering Los Angeles and the unintentional ebb and sway of finding myself again. A gradually looping state of lethargy breaks out into its own speed and dance.
