Part of an era from the 90s was dominated by this style of rap, even rappers who were using samples at one time, changed their production to more of a funk-oriented sound. Rappers from NY were dabbling with some of that g-funk. Now I will admit, some rappers had no business using that type of sound at all, but some rappers used that sound in the right way.
