HOLY GRAIL ALERT!!! Following on 2021’s massive reboot of Midnight Magic’s seminal classic Beam Me Up, Razor-N-Tape have now unearthed a bit of NYC indie disco history with “I Found Love”, which the band co-produced with Tommie Sunshine.

Although recorded over 10 years ago in Midnight Magic’s nascent early period that produced many of their legendary hits, the song never received an official release; until now it has been heard only by select ears and lucky concert-goers.  The package comes with a grip of luminous remixes by Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca, Sophie Lloyd, Perel and Derrick Carter, some solicited at the time of recording and some brand new, but all exceptionally fresh!

Here are some words about the song by the band:

"I Found Love" was recorded in a fever on the heels of releasing "Beam Me Up." New York dance music wizard Tommie Sunshine approached us about a co-write saying we should go as big as possible. So we did--it is one of our all time favorite vocal performances from our singer, Tiffany Roth. We had big plans, too, for a release but nothing quite felt right until meeting the Razor N Tape crew almost a decade later. Finally the stage is set, the lights are on, and we're ready. This song is very special to us because it is the last un-released recording featuring our late bandmate Jason Disu. This release is dedicated to him and his family.

Underground System returns to Razor-N-Tape with the Looking In EP - a 5-track offering of fresh originals and remixes. Ranging from low-slung balearic grooves, to driving left-field funk and urgent uptempo backbeats, the record is a fine-tuning of the US sound, complete with their signature flute and synth soundscapes, driving percussion, and catchy offbeat vocal hooks. On the B-side, RNT mainstays Nenor and Clive From Accounts take two of the tunes into clubbier territory, with a pair of remixes primed for the dance floor.

Three years on from the release of Rhys Adams aka YesKing's 'Re-Record… Not Fade Away', we are delighted to live up to the album's title by presenting two previously unheard remixes of standout tracks 'Hardground' and 'Overproof'.
Featuring heart-stopping vocals by Mel Uye-Parker & Rioghnach Connolly, 'Hardground' was the album's lead single and it's easy to see why. Bittersweet, understated atmospheres call to mind vintage Massive Attack and Portishead, while Rhys's deft arrangement builds the track into a horn and drum-laden epic. Providing a vintage version in their own unique style, legends in their own bath-time Crazy P are first up on remix duties. Surely one of the best live acts on the planet right now, the UK outfit's rework is full of funky guitar licks, classic piano chords and live percussion, creating a disco-crossover anthem of sizeable proportions. Staying in the disco/house arena, engineer and producer O. De Lanzac turns in a silky-smooth version, with eerie chords underpinned by a rock-solid bassline, calling to mind the eclectic, soulful brilliance of her 2012 BBE debut ‘Uncut’. 
Displaying an affectionate tip-of-the-hat to 'Ghost Town' by The Specials, 'Overproof' is surely one of the best loved and most-played cuts on 'Re-Record… Not Fade Away'. DJ and edit maestro Sam Redmore raises the tempo a little whist somehow smoothing the track out at the same time, retaining the blissful dubbed-out vibe of the original version. Listen to Sam's subtle retouch of 'Overproof' and it's clear to see why the Birmingham native can count Craig Charles and Gilles Peterson among his ever-growing number of fans.

"It was super cool working with Tim," explains Panama. As soon as Tim played me the bass line, straight away I was hooked, it just really grabbed me and we quickly built the song from there!" They make it sound so simple but the resulting track is sure to earn a pride of place in both artists' catalogues. 
 
Whether producing modern Balearic house anthems such as 'You Make Me Feel Good', seductively soulful tracks like 'Through The Night' or genuine poolside classics like 'For Days', Tim has established himself as one of the biggest names in the modern disco scene clocking up more than 35 million streams of the debut Satin Jackets album, 'Panorama Pacifico', on Spotify alone.

Panama meanwhile is the musical moniker of Sydney based singer-songwriter Jarrah McCleary. Making his name with acclaimed releases on some of the most exciting labels around including Future Classic and Roche Music, Jarrah's blend of live and electronic sounds and raw emotional songwriting has firmly established himself as one of Australia's hottest musical exports.

Detroit's https://soundcloud.com/pontchartrain takes the Razor-N-Tape reigns for his debut on the label - an all-cylinders-firing jazz laden, deep house EP with an exquisite https://soundcloud.com/demuja remix.

The A side kicks off with 'The Friends & Lovers Dub' version of the title track 'Love Is Madness', filled with deep pulsing pads, resonating dashes of sax, crisp percussion and a bumping bassline that provides the perfect backdrop to the echoing mantra of 'Friends... Lovers'. 

Next 'I-80' is a wonder of shimmering arps, brooding bass tones and reverberating trumpet touches. Perfect for the early hours, entrancing dancers as it washes over the airwaves. 

On the flip, Austria's golden boy Demuja hits hard with a Kerri Chandler channeling deep house remix of 'Love Is Madness', centred around a pumping bass synth, sustained organs and a classic marriage of horn stabs and emotive spoken word. 

Closing the EP the original mix is a sun kissed, eyes closed gem that blends delicate bongos, rousing sax lines and the sweet vocals of Simon Black & Leafar.

A must for any record collection out there, house head or not.
