The Shapeshifters return to Glitterbox with their stunning dancefloor belter ‘Try My Love (On For Size)’, this time along with a classic disco remix by Dr Packer. Teni Tinks, a session vocalist and arranger who has worked with the likes of Rudimental, Quincy Jones and The Jacksons, lays down fresh vocals on the Sharon Redd anthem from 1980, now laden with fresh horns, strings and arrangement on the Club Mix. The king of disco re-edits Dr Packer slows the composition down, highlighting the impressive instrumental with filtered vocals beneath for a more classic sounding version of this wonderfully life-affirming record.

More than just a remix, Honey has recreated a classic Paradise Garage vibe by drafting musicians to re-record the track, with a fresh Fiorious vocal laid on top. London based DJ / producer Alan Dixon makes his Glitterbox debut with the gospel inspired dancefloor cut ‘Bless Me Today’. With previous releases on Midnight Riot and Marcel Vogel’s Lumberjacks In Hell, Alan’s soulful outputs have garnered him a few high profile fans including Gerd Janson and DJ Tennis, who both have played his records at recent gigs. The stunning gospel vocals bring a classic disco sound to this funk-laden track, and legendary German DJ Phonk D’s remix enhances this, maintaining the authenticity of the track’s sound whilst aligning it further to today’s dancefloors.

Pioneering Leeds native Nightmares On Wax delivers his smooth, jazz-laced remix full of funk-flavoured grooves, demonstrating his innate musicality.

Named King of the Edit since the 1980’s, pioneering Manhattan DJ Danny Krivit’s (aka Mr K) latest delivery instils the title bestowed upon him some 30 years ago. An esteemed selector Danny’s prolific remixing and production capabilities have touched hundreds of records – with his signature flare shaping the New York City sound. Opening the two-track release is Danny edit this summer’s seminal track The Vision’s ‘Heaven’, interweaving a gloriously groovy bassline with Andreya Triana’s vocal to produce an extended, DJ friendly mix that he sent crowds wild with at Dekmental Festival. Up next, Mr K delves a little deeper into the Defected catalogue, trying his hand at The DangerFeel Newbies’ ‘What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal)’. Danny’s stripped back version extends the jazzy, percussive original, as velvety smooth vocals and elegant keys bring this expressive and sophisticated release to a close.
